In another thread, using "Bookmark this page" solved the problem of bookmarked page only showing in sidebar - but that's how I bookmarked a page, and it went into the sidebar when I clicked on the bookmark anyway!

I normally use the "bookmark this page" feature to bookmark a page - In any case, I HATE the default being to load the page into a sidebar even if I bookmarked the page some OTHER way! Is there any way I can make the default to open a full new window no matter what?

Don't use the "Bookmark this Page" button on web pages - period. There are three types of JavaScript code that can be used for a feature like that on a web page, two don't work in Firefox at all and the one that does work check-marks that "sidebar" pref.

There 5 ways to save a new Bookmark in Firefox, and none will check-mark the "load in sidebar" preference. 1. 2. Right-click and select Bookmark this Page. 3. Bookmarks > Bookmark this Page 4. Double-click the Star that is on the right side of the Location bar. 4a. (A single-click on the Star will save the new Bookmark to the Unsorted Bookmarks folder.) 5. Drag the website image in the URL bar into the Sidebar view of Bookmarks or to the Bookmarks menu bar item and then into the drop-down or onto the Bookmarks Toolbar
