Thunderbird repeats ask for Posteo password

Hi. Thunderbird was working fine for my Posteo email. But today it started asking for my Posteo password for receiving emails, sending, and for moving emails to different folders. At first it did not recognise the password, just repeatedly asked for it. Then it suddenly recognised and accepted the password, and downloaded some emails. But now I have to put in my password each time I look at inbox, each time I send an email, each time I move an email to a folder. I don't understand why, or how to fix this. Has anyone any suggestions? Thank you.
