Linux Mint - KDEConnect interruption

Hi! I'm trying to get KDEConnect running again, and every time I enable MozillaVPN on both of my devices, KDEConnect drops off My phone calls my computer not reachable. KDEConnect works fine when The VPN is off. I'm running Linux Mint 20 MATE. I think it's got something to do with the instructions here https://userbase.kde.org/KDEConnect#Running_KDE_Connect_over_OpenVPN but I'm not having luck with understanding or implementing the advice as I'm not running MozillaVPN through OpenVPN (to my knowledge). How do I get them both to work at the same time? Thank you.

I removed KDEconnect from App Permissions on both the desktop app and the phone app, this seems to solve the problem. EDIT: Until I rebooted.

Still having no luck getting KDEConnect running alongside MozillaVPN.
