Use Thunderbird interactively with another email creator program so that the new email opens in Thunderbird before sending.

I have been using Thunderbird for years with a old e-mail generating program (Contact Plus). Today Thunderbird was updated. I lost the ability to run e-mails interactively - i.e. the e-mail is no longer open in Thunderbird and is sent immediately. I need the ability to edit in Thunderbird and add items.

Please let me know how to correct or go back.

I have been using the creator Program interactively for over 10 years and it has worked well with Thunderbird. Exactly what setting in Thunderbird has to be changed?

Do I have to go back to an old version of Thunderbird?
