pocket button missing in firefox
I am using the latest firefox and have used pocket for a while. But it suddenly disappeared. I found the option extensions.pocket.enabled=false, but it is shown as blocked and I cannot change it.
I tried reintsall firefox, refresh firefox(see below), but none of it works. anything else I could do?

I assume the preference in the about:config
section is locked (see my screenshot)?
Naturally, the first thing to try is simply right clicking the preference and selecting Reset. If this isn't possible, it could mean a few things.
Firstly, Firefox could be controlled using Windows group policy. This could prevent you from changing this setting. You would need to check that Windows group policy is not locking that setting in Firefox.
Similarly, Firefox could be controlled by a policies.json file. Just like group policy, this file can lock specific settings. To check if this is enabled, go to the Firefox installation directory (where Firefox is installed) and check for a distribution
directory that contains a policies.json
file in it.
Also, Firefox could be locked with an AutoConfig. To check this, go to the Firefox installation directory and check default > prefs
for a file called autoconfig.js
. If that exists, go to the Firefox installation directory and look for a file with the extension .cfg
.
If none of that helps, open your Firefox profile and see if you can find a user.js
file in there. If you do, change the name of that file to user.js.old
and see if that unlocks the settings.
