All my messages and folders downloaded from Hotmail to Thunderbird without a problem, but I do not have the address book?

For ease of use I have installed Thunderbird on my sister's laptop using Windows 7. All of her 3 email accounts were easily imported into Thunderbird and the many folders she had in Hotmail have all immediately appeared. However, there was no address book at all. I tried to use the Import tool in T'Bird and selected "import from Outlook" but nothing happened. I then went back to hotmail and saved the address back as a .csv file and used that with the import tool. I ticked all the relevant boxes (name, surname, email address). This time I got a list of surnames in the address book but no email addresses. What am i doing wrong? I would be grateful for any advice please?

Thank you. I'll confirm when I am next able to use this method on my sister's laptop.

No need to respond but I don't recall having this same problem when I had to import 3 accounts (including Hotmail) into my own T'Bird.
