Is there any way to import multiple addresses simultaneously into version 60 of Thunderbird?

Apparently, prior to version 60, you could use the morefunctionsforaddressbook add-on to do this. But, I get a message that this add-on is not compatible with version 60. Installing one address at a time is a joke. Tried to go back to an earlier version, but continue to get alerts from my anti-virus program.

What do you mean exactly by "import multiple addressess"? I suppose you're referring to contacts. If so, the CardBook extension supports, among many features:

  • Import Thunderbird standard address books
  • CSV file export and import
  • VCF file export and import

It may also be quicker to use an older version while disabling the anti-virus temporarily.

I appreciate the quick response. But, I still have a problem. I followed your instructions to switch the preference to false. And, the MoreFunctionsForAddressBook add-on was installed without incident. But, when I tried to import my .vcf file, it still didn't work. According to instructions I found, I was to go to Address Book/Tools/Options/MoreFunctionsForAddressBook/Actions for Contacts/Import vCard. But, when I got to the Actions for Contacts item--it was greyed out. As were the Actions for Lists and Actions for Address Books. Any further suggestions?

To sfhowes,

After following you latest suggestion, I sent you a followup note saying I was still having trouble. But, after a bit more effort, your suggested approach worked--and I was able to load all my contacts. I then sent a final thank you note--which seemingly is lost somewhere. Anyway, thanks for your help.
