Is the “Shockwave Flash 13.0.0.206 (Last updated 04.29.14)” message legitimate that it does need to be updated or is it outdated and n/a?

Occasionally I come across messages that I need to update my flash plug-in when trying to view certain videos online. However, based on the Firefox message “Shockwave Flash is known to be vulnerable and should be updated. (13.0.0.206, last updated April 29, 2014)” message, even the term "Shockwave Flash" is outdated. Should this update be ignored? If so, how do I get rid of it from appearing under the Add-ons? Also, do I need to do anything more with plug-ins if I uninstalled/reinstalled another version of Firefox when it failed to launch or is it already been built-in? Or do I need to clear out excess files that no longer belong? If so, how do I do that since I no longer get that prompt? Please advise.

Hi,

Adobe Flash Player displays as 'Shockwave Flash' in Firefox Addons => Plugins.

Unless you never visit sites that use Flash, you should definately update that very, very old version that you have installed, as it can cause major problems.

Would you please uninstall your current version and install the latest version, which is 28.0.0.161
