Then you need to contact the content creator and ask them to update to so it works in FF57+ and FF can't do anything about it if they don't update it so that it will work in FF57.

The author of OpenDownload² extension has stated it cannot be made to run on Firefox 57+

Mozilla will not add such a features as it is a huge security concern in running .exe's with scanning first if not a trusted software. Who do you think people will blame if they run a iamreallyatrojan.exe and infect their Windows.
