In Thunderbird when I go to Tools> options, the window is too large to read the options at the top, how do I make the window smaller?
I can't see the Options at the top of the Tools> Options window because the window is too large and the top of the window is not visible. How do I reduce the size of the Options window? Thanks.

I have found out how to change the height of this window, but the trouble you'll have with it is that it is designed to be displayed at a fixed size. So if you use the information below to shrink it, there will no scroll bars and so some of the content will remain inaccessible. :-(
1. Close Thunderbird. 2. Enable viewing of hidden files. 3. Find your profile. 4. If there isn't already one, create a folder named chrome. 5. In that folder, if it isn't already there, you need to create a file named userChrome.css. 6. At the top of this file you need the following text:
/* * Do not remove the @namespace line -- it's required for correct functioning */ @namespace url("http://www.mozilla.org/keymaster/gatekeeper/there.is.only.xul");
7. Add the following text:
#MailPreferences { min-height: 38em !important; }
8. 38em is the default setting, so try something a bit smaller. Perhaps 30em as a starter.
You should now be able to shrink the size of the Options window by dragging its visible edges up or down.
