Login to Sync problems

  1. more options

More and more users cannot login to Firefox Sync;   they get stuck on   'Working',   which usually means that an error has occurred. Asked some OP's to check in the web developer console for any errors or failing network requests,   but I can't very well ask them to report file a bug report   (don't even know if this is a bug). I'm really stuck here and I'd sure appreciate it if someone would 'jump in' and help these people, for, truth be told:   I haven't a clue.

Any chance of merging these two threads   ?

  4. Not something we can do at present. That may change in Lithium. What I can and have now done, is move the thread to the other forum. So at least both threads are in the same forum now.

  6. hi happy112 - looks like you've found bug 1319904 there independently - those users with problems are apparently all setting their privacy settings to never remember history. this is a regression in firefox 50 but should be fixed in upcoming versions...

you cannot always take users by their word 100% - sometimes they say they tried something, but they didn't (or not correctly; maybe forgot to restart once). the refresh they talked about in their reply would have reset the privacy settings too.

since it is a bug within the code in firefox 50 they're gonna have to wait until a new version comes out to fix that :-) the question is how long this is going to take... i don't think it's making sense to escalate that all to the top of the firefox leadership. the team that is fixing the problem is aware of the high impact and pushing to get this into the firefox 50.1 release already.
