New Article & Feature Fx38 Desktop reader list

  1. From https://etherpad.mozilla.org/sumo-2015-03-02 (Video does not seem to be available)
New articles for fx38: https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/firefox-reading-list-save-sync-and-read-pages and https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/reader-view-clean-readable-pages-firefox
#[[Firefox Reading List - Save, sync and read pages anywhere]] #(Note article was renamed) [[Firefox Reader View - distraction-free web pages]]
  2. Thanks for posting this John99.

Here's the bug for this request: https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1132988

Since the video isn't up yet, I wanted to add some notes here for those who couldn't make it to the meeting:

    1. Why are we writing these articles so early in the cycle? - These articles are going to be pre-loaded into the Reading List at release. We needed to have at least a first draft ready so the team can use them during testing and development.

    2. Why aren't they marked ready for L10N? - There's no localization needed at this time. We'll wait until the features are closer to general release, when they're less likely to change.

    3. Does this mean I shouldn't revise these articles? - Not necessarily. If you'd like to submit revisions, please do so, but keep in mind that these articles might change significantly as the features are being worked on.

Reading List was not planned to be released until FF 38.1, in June. However, there have just been some changes with regards to what features of reading list will come with Firefox 38.1.

It's not completely clear what will/won't ship right now. But what is clear is that no new reading list features are shipping before June.
