Refresh button

  1. Users now have the ability to refresh Firefox directly from an article. All we contributors have to do is add [[Button:refresh]] to make the clickable button show up. This is case-sensitive so please pay special attention to the capital letters.

Here's what it looks like: Refresh Firefox

Let's try using this button for relevant Firefox 35 content. I'll keep an eye on the user feedback and we'll add the long instructions only if needed.

Thanks, SUMO Dev and Verdi, for implementing this. Joni

  2. Related bug report(s)?

I found this bug linked from the reset-firefox meta bug

    • Bug 1062345 - Breakdown: Implement "Reset Firefox" from Mozilla websites

Only thing, the bug report didn't mention the new [[Button:refresh]] button which you added to [[Template:resetsteps]] as shown here: /en-US/kb/templateresetsteps#firefox:win7:fx35

I didn't realize that you could add that button to any article. I thought it was just for mozilla webpages with download links, such as http://www.mozilla.org/firefox/new as an alternative to downloading a fresh copy.

    P.S. Other related bugs:

    • Bug 1027318 - Download button should offer a Firefox Refresh option before download of the same Firefox version
    • Bug 1087854 - Implement Refresh from web on Firefox product support page

How to localize the caption on this button? In Verbatim?
  5. Yes, it's localizable in Verbatim. The string has just been added to it, I believe.

Vesper posted about it here: https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/forums/l10n-forum/710975?last=63386#post-63386).
