New Mobile Theme - We need your help!

  1. On Monday, December 17th, we are going to switch to a new mobile theme for the SUMO site, and we need your help to make sure there are no blockers and that we file bugs for the rough edges. This is a huge change for our mobile visitors and with your help we can make sure it'll also be a huge success.

The first stage of the mobile redesign will address visitors and users (people who browse the site and ask a question), later stages will address contributors and SUMO staff. However, we want to make sure we are not breaking anything for current contributors who are using SUMO on their mobile.

If you have a little time, please help us, by using the site as you'd normally do and report back anything you notice on this Etherpad: https://etherpad.mozilla.org/mobile-site-implementation

If you have a little more time, try the paths that are described at the top of the page (eg. searching an article). If you are not sure whether something is a bug, report it anyway, we can sort it out later. If you have more than one device, please help us by testing it on those too. We'd like to cover as many devices and browsers as possible with a focus on Android and Firefox.

If you have any questions, let me know here.

    Thanks! Kadir

  3. Note that with a desktop version you can see the pages in mobile format by adding &mobile=1 or ?mobile=1 to an URL.

Note if you change to mobile it sets cookies, rather like choosing KB articles for a different browser or OS which change for_os and for_bowser Choosing mobile sets "msumo" to on . You may wish to remove or reset the cookie after you have looked at the mobile version.

  5. You can also change the URL parameter to `mobile=0` to switch it back off easily.

  8. A problem in mobile SUMO site. I'm unable to view the TAGS to identify, whether the post is related to mobile Firefox or Desktop Firefox. Because of this problem some time, i'm providing solution to Desktop firefox instead of mobile firefox.
