New page opens and when closed warns me about closing tabs?

I will be on the internet and a new page will open for whatever reason, maybe I told it to. But when I go to close it the warning comes up that I am going to be closing tabs so I can "Save and Quite" "Quit" "Cancel" So I press cancel because I am still using it. But it happens a lot and I would like to be able to close any pop up windows without getting that warning everytime. How do I change it? I just got the new firefox so I had to go and edit it so it even warned me about the tabs, but I don't want the warning when closing a single tabbed, totally different screen.

Did you open a new tab in the same window or did you open a new window?

Do you see two windows listed on the Task bar (e.g. Alt + Tab works to go to the other window)?

Start Firefox in Use Troubleshoot Mode in Firefox to check if one of the add-ons is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Tools > Add-ons > Appearance/Themes).

  • Don't make any changes on the Safe mode start window.
