I unexpectedly got a message "Login to server imap.comcast.net with username johnmckiernan@comcast.net failed."
Thinking it was odd, I followed through setting a new password. The password works for Firefox logging into the comcast/Xfinity site. I can also have it work on my iPhone/Apple Mail.
But it doesn't seem to work through Thunderbird.

When I try to access my email via Mozilla's inbox it says that the password is failing. I have tried to create a new password but no emails are able to come in or get sent. I would like assistantce in account recovery as I have had the account for at least 20 yrs
I see no Trash icon. My Recycle bin is always empty.

I am using T-Bird 128.5.1esr 64-bit on Win 11, but this problem has existed for a while. Nothing will be displayed if I have the folder checked to show all mail. See screenshot. This is occurring in several folders, not all folders. Unread mail will display. I have tried repairing the folders.

It seems that ever since my Thunderbird auto-updated to 128.5.1, sending messages with attachments is VERY slow. I just sent a client an email with a 6.9 MB attachment and it took over 2 minutes to send. A few weeks ago, that would have gotten sent in seconds. I tried cleaning out my Inbox and Sent box by moving most of the messages to local folders, but no change. Any thoughts? Anyone else having this issue?

If i am trying to fing some email i am using search area in the top of the app. And it will find nothing. Even if i know there is email from person who i am searching for. I will type just few letters or half od the email name and it will find nothning. To be able to find email i have to go online google mail web and search over there.

my old laptop SSD crashed and I had to re-install Thunderbird. It took a few days to do so, in this time I switched from Windows 10 to Linux Mint.
After an import of a (luckily fresh) backup into the new Thunderbird installation, it don't receive messages between 02. December 2024 and 10. December 2024. I can find them via Webmailer (strato.de), but if I click on "Receive new mails" in Thunderbird, there are "no new messages" in its oppinion.
But it is possible to send me a new Mail to the given address, that will be received immediatly.
What can I do to get these E-Mails of the given date range?

I use the Thunderbird add ons "mail merge" and "send later" to create mass mailings with individual salutations etc. Now I also want to send an automatic follow-up to these mailings. However, only to the people who didn't answer to the first mailing should receive a follow-up. Is it possible to automatize this process with Thunderbird? Or is there maybe an add on I can use for that? Right now I have to check every mail individually for replies and answer one after another by hand. That takes a lot of time and there has to be a solution for that. Can you guys help me with that? Thank you so much in advance!

Somewhere in between the latest Thunderbird update and me switching broadband providers from Virgin to Sky and back to Virgin again, all in the space of about a week, this problem has developed with sending emails.
At first when i switched from Virgin, I got a message that my NTL email address would no longer work after 90 days, as it was owned by Virgin. Each time I wanted to send from my NTL account I got a pop-up message asking me (Think I recall correctly) to insert my NTL password. I ignored it and switched my sending email address to my gmail email account. Now I find difficulty sending both in Gmail and in Virgin, sometimes having to wait several minutes for the email to go, sometimes it not going at all, other times waiting for a copy, then occasionally "can't copy to the "sent" folder so save in "Local Folder".
I would be grateful for advice how to revert to the previous excellent service i always had with Thunderbird.

Case 2: You are using Gmail IMAP. Gmail automatically copies deleted emails to the trash folder. This means that if you took your time writing an email, there would be multiple copies of the draft in your Trash folder when you got done. One for each time auto save ran.

My mother has an iPrimus email address which she accesses through Thunderbird. Today, she noticed a large chunk of her emails had disappeared out of the blue. IPrimus couldn't find the issue or locate the missing emails and were under the impression it was a Thunderbird - third-party- issue. Can anyone please step me through how to retrieve emails or reset activity? Is there also a direct line with Thunderbird to speak with?
