I do not have any problem sending messages that I originate, but when I reply to a received email the message that I send appears in my inbox, but does not get sent to the intended recipient. Can you suggest a solution to that problem?

Hi In the last month or so, this has started happening.

I will open a message in my inbox. Maybe I have done a search for messages from a particular person. I open the message. When I close it, the in boxes for both of my email account suddenly say NO MESSAGE FOUND.

If I close and re-open the program, all my messages are there. But when I get the NO MESSAGE FOUND in the sapec where my emails shou;ld be - the same message appears for every folder I open.

Whats this all about?

When viewers submit a form on our website, the incoming email usually appears as subject 'quote request' with their name as the 'correspondent'. But since 2 days ago every 'quote request' is showing the same name as 'correspondent', the name of another customer we have been emailing back and forth with. He was originally a 'quote request' from about 4 or 5 months ago. It has changed to this name on every quote request email we have on the system, even going back 12 months! I know this is not a TB problem because it has only happened on our laptop, all the quote requests are still showing correct names on TB on our PC. So, it would appear that we have inadvertently clicked on something. Any ideas what we could have done wrong and, more importantly, how we can undo it? thanks Chris

When using the "Quick Filter Bar" search, the older version of Thunderbird before the big update had a progress spinner which indicated the search is still in progress when, and that spinner is missing now. I am running thunderbird over an ssh -Y connection on my local LAN. The application runs with no visible (to me) problems, other than those reported in the console window. So, when it starts, it gives some GFX1/glxtest messages which I assume come from the fact that it runs remotely and some numbers reported to glxtest do not make sense (thunderbird runs on a dual GPU laptop, with the nvidia card enabled in performance mode). Then it says it cannot deduce the GPU vendor but I still get normal (if not a bit slow) GUI output.

Then I get console errors mostly from the calendar, which have to do with my google account, but the most worrying one is this one: "Assert failed: Calendar manager initialised calendars before loadCalendarComponent ran on the first 3pane window. This should not happen.\n "

Are they important and can I do something about it? (Screenshot attached)

Since the big upgrade in July(?), two things happen:

1. When I open Thunderbird, it shows "No messages found" before it loads my folders. 2. More frustratingly, after I send a message, an hourglass sign appears and Thunderbird hangs for about 30 seconds, during which I can't do anything.

Neither of these had been an issue before the upgrade. I keep checking for new updates in the hope that these will be fixed, but so far the problems have persisted. I am using POP and have the most up to date version of Thunderbird. Tried to run it in Troubleshoot mode - the problems are still there. Please help resolve this.

I have 2 email accounts on Thunderbird, both with the same ISP. I can get messages delivered to the inbox of my main account but Thunderbird no longer searches the server for messages on the secondary account. Both accounts are set up in Thunderbird with identical settings.

I have been online and read the support suggestions on how to resolve this but it hasn't worked. Support suggested it may be that the password has changed and advised me to remove the password from settings and next time I open Thunderbird I will be asked for my password. This did not happen. I removed the password from the account which is not downloading to my inbox and when I reopened Thunderbird I was not asked for the new password. However I can send emails from this secondary account.

I have checked webmail and there are definitely messages waiting there to download.

My main Thunderbird email (the one that is downloading messages to my inbox) is aparbury@comcen.com.au not the one showing on this log in.

I've been using Thunderbird for years on macOS with no problems. All of a sudden, as of yesterday, I can't create new folders and subfolders. I also can't rename folders. The software is up to date (128.2.3esr (64-bit)). The laptop is running macOS Sonoma v 14.6.1. I've tried restarting Thunderbird, restarting the laptop, and Googling for an answer, of course. I've also tried opening Troubleshoot Mode, that didn't make a difference. I probably have several hundred folders - it's a work account and each client has to have their own subfolder. I can't seem to find anything that says there is a limit to the number of folders, and in any event that wouldn't explain the inability to rename folders. Thunderbird is working fine otherwise.

None of the topics in the drop down I was given are relevant to my question, which is about the Calendar in Thunderbird 115.12.2, on Windows 10.

When I edit an event or create a new one in the Calendar, the height of the Description window is ridiculously small, as shown in the attached screen capture. It only displays a couple of lines of text whereas my descriptions are usually far longer than that. So I always have to resize the window and TB doesn't "remember" my preferred window height, so I have to resize it every single time I create or edit an event.

Is there any workaround for this, to set the default height of the Edit Event window to a larger height than Thunderbird's default?

Why is Thunderbird on Windows so agonizingly slow and unresponsive after recent updates? I've checked my memory, CPU, disk usage, network, everything. I've rebooted. I've tried it on multiple networks. Same thing - agonizingly slow and unresponsive. I've been using Thunderbird for over 22 years, and it's always been wonderful. Now, it SUCKS! What happened? Does anyone know of a better email client for Windows? I've contributed to T-Bird several times, but I can't support these latest updates. It's barely usable now. Help!

Any messages I have opened today on one of the email accounts on Thunderbird are not opening but the screen is filled with a random photo which is not one of mine. When I access these emails on another platform (via my phone or the BT website) the emails open normally. It seems to be a Thunderbird problem. I attach a screenshot of the picture on the screen. Can you throw any light on this please? It is rather disturbing.

If so, would this option be better described as "Import from Outlook .pst File" or perhaps "data file"?

I just had to change the password on my host email server. Now I can't send email and when I try, I her the error box asking me to enter a new password. I do that with the new pass word and the message comes back immediately. I checked my saved password for SMTP and it shows up as the new pass word. I can send mail from the host server email app so I know that end is working. I can also receive emails on Thunderbird from the host with the new password. I have 2 other email accounts on 3 different hosts and those send emails through Thunderbird without any issue. My host tech support checked out everything from their side and feel that it is something in Thunderbird. I have the newest version of Thunderbird which just downloaded a couple of days ago. I have checked everything I know but no luck. Help!
