I'm using Firefox 155 on Android in the UK.
The VPN has a location setting, but it's locked to "let us decide"; which doesn't seem very useful!

Does the VPN work if you already have a VPN and does it work and allow you to view websites with out cutting your VPN off like reading articles.

that would add a lot to firefox for android thus stop improving tab groups that are not really a priority than bookmark manager.

While we are at it, out of curiosity, why "run foreground service with the type "specialUse""? I think Firefox developers should always minimize the use of permissions, since Firefox is focused on privacy and security.
