A few days ago, my Firefox installation stopped auto-completing my URLs. I didn't think much of it. But I tried looking up my history and bookmarks today, and they're both gone. History won't update, and I can't add new bookmarks. In-page autocomplete still works.

My Firefox version is 140.0.2 for MacOS on an M1 Mac Mini. I'd recently update my computer's operating system before I noticed the issue, and I had to do a hard power-down a day or two afterward. I do not know if the issue began before or after the hard shutdown.

Whatever update that happened recently destroyed everything I used Firefox for, everything. How can I get it all back? It seems there is no going back?

How did Mozilla left this get by? If I have to rebuild everything it will take years.

I may as well use a more worthy browser. I am so angry. I've lost links to so many family items like the burial site of my birth father. So, many things gone. I'm stunned and crushed over this.

I trusted Mozilla. Now i can't trust Mozilla.

last night we had a couple second power outage. This morning my desktop with Firefox won't properly boot up. It goes to Microsoft Edge. I have changed the default back to Firefox but none of my files will show up.

Today randomly i noticed that my bookmark bar is waaay shorter out of the blue, i didn't change or adjust anything, all i do is the updates from mozilla that's all, it was all music it really saddens me because atm it's lost forever, i hope somebody can help me (i don't know since when it disappered i literally just noticed it right now ...)

I had set up sidebery list in my desktop computer but when i login firefox in my laptop, the sidebery list didnt appear? may i know how to do the setting to sync between the 2 devices?

The contents of my Bookmarks Toolbar disappeared at the same time as a Windows 10 update. Instead of my bookmarks, I see "For quick access, place your bookmarks here on the bookmarks toolbar. Manage bookmarks." I right-clicked on the space and I have "Always Show" still checked.

After importing bookmarks from Microsoft Edge browser to Firefox, the two browsers have folders with the same name in the same directory. Some of the bookmarks in the folders have the same website domain names. I hope that in the future, Firefox can automatically organize bookmarks from two identical folders into one folder and automatically delete bookmarks with duplicate domain names. This feature is available when importing bookmarks from Firefox using Microsoft Edge. I hope Firefox can also improve it. Thank you.

When i starup my firefox browser All my bookmarks are gone and i dont know how to retrieve the bookmarks. do i need to setup an firefox account or what should i do? with regards

The title sums it up. • Does anyone know why FFx , when opened following my MacBook Pro Restart, opens without any of my selected Tabs AND then provides no History of my last FFx session??? • Hours of Internet research, vanishes! It really p--- me off! • This has happened at least 4 or 5 times in the past year to year and a half and on both computers. And I do stay on top of my FFx updates. If a Notice appears on my screen, I usually install within 24 hours. • This last time (today) I had previously updated FFx a few hours earlier and then I needed to run a Restart of the computer.... • MBPro fires back up, I open FFx and nothing in the Tabs Header. GONE! Poof! • I go to Browsing History - no Restore Previous Session (by any other term) • Doesn't it seem logical? THAT fundamental function would be right there, top of the list?!?! • HERE IS THE KICKER: In FFx I opened the FFx "About Firefox" menu and noticed it says, amidst all the provided information, "Failed to check for updates." • BS! It was following the update that FFx Tabs vanished! How can it insert that statement? Was I suppose to do something other than click "OKAY". And then the new version begins when FFx is reopened. Right? • If this comes down to the older OS on the computer (10.13.6) I should not be receiving update notices from FFx. If so, a notice of, "Your Mac's OS is too old to run FireFox's latest version" would be what I should receive. So, as you can tell, I'm frustrated and baffled at the same time. Any thoughts? I am definitely not interested in bells and whistles. Just want basic program. The new update ate my current settings and book marks. Did not create a backfile with my profile. Your help process sucks big time. Do you even do beta testing before you send them out?

My husband was trying to fix an Outlook account that was damaged because of a power outage and in the process reset some of my accounts. I couldn't log in to Firefox so I used my email and hit reset password. In the process it said my account was new as of June 25, 2025 and I lost all my passwords saved in Firefox. This is a desktop computer with Windows 7. I have a new computer with Windows 11 and it still listed my passwords but said my account was disconnected. I don't know how to keep my passwords in that account but don't know how to access them so I don't lose the information.

I rebooted and launched FF, I was asked if I wanted to Refresh. Naturally I declined because I'm not an idiot. Now all my addons and passwords are gone. I would love to have them back since I never asked for them to be deleted. I don't have an "Old Firefox Data" or whatever folder on my desktop, would have been cool for them to leave that there when they clobbered years of data and customization because Firefox thinks they should have more control over my PC than I do, but they didn't. Is there any way to get these back?

I have just installed firefox on my new computer. I had firefox on my old computer and laptop that are both still running. It has pulled in a list of mostly obsolete accounts and passwords which are listed when I select "passwords" I did not ask firefox to do this. why has it done this. what else may it have done that I don't know about

For the 2nd time in 3 months my history and password files have disappeared from my browser. I have an Acer laptop running Windows 10 with Norton Security. I've tried a few fixes from your site with no success. Also tried a fix your site did have, but the link led nowhere. I need these passwords back. What do I do? I was in the midst of registering my wife for social security. Now my login and password are in the wind. Please get back to me Thank you
