After installing Mozilla on my mobile phone and syncing with my laptop all my bookmarks and history are GONE from my laptop. When attempting to restore them, following your suggested instructions, no dates appear when clicking the restore function. Deleted Mozilla from my mobile phone, still no good. Do I need to recreate all my bookmarks again?! How? When attempting to bookmark a new site it does NOT bookmark! No new history is showing either! Very disappointing, should I just return to windows again after years and years with Mozilla? Andrew S

I had sync turned on before I reinstalled my OS, and now I have lost everything. Is there anyway to recover the stuff that should be there? Yes or no. If yes please provide steps, and not the self help articles here as they are worthless.

Firefox has exceeded all previous mess-ups by upgrading itself today (apparently sometime when my battery went flat and was then left recharging), and this happened despite my account being set for 'upgrades to be only installed manually'. Now every bookmark, all passwords and all the settings of my Home Page have been erased. I have no 'restore point' to resort to as supposedly all this info is synced to the cloud. But I can find no method to retrieve any of these files let alone one to restore them. This is a nightmare. Please help.

A power surge took out my computer during a Windows up date, I could not recover anything, so did a fresh install of Windows........now, I can't get Firefox to bring over my bookmarks. I am so upset and lost right now, I'm sure I'm just missing something to do. Please help.

for context: my laptop was working/running completely fine last night, as of about midnight (east coast). booted it up around noon today to see that it was super slow and kinda laggy (this is a windows problem, not a firefox one, don't try and fix that, i know it sucks), and that if i restarted/shut down, it would automatically update (not what i wanted). when i did finally begrudgingly restart my laptop, it auto-updated as windows does, and i expected to open up firefox and go on with my day.

unfortunately, it prompted me to make a new user. and when i signed into my firefox account, it treated the browser that i have used for at least 8 months like i had freshly downloaded it. all of my history on here is gone. all of my bookmarks are gone. when i connected my phone to try and sync from what i had left before i updated, all my sync information went down the drain and is completely gone as well. i really don't understand what went wrong here, and i'm honestly devastated that all of my work and my history has to be painstakingly rebuilt.

if anyone has any idea of what happened here, it'd make me feel a little better and try to avoid it in the future.

My personal toolbar and all my bookmarks were saved to my account at [email removed]@u-bordeaux.fr, and today at 11 a.m. I lost everything. I can't seem to recover these bookmarks; I think there was a synchronization issue. Can you help me recover what was lost? Best regards, Jonathan

Firefox keeps just not work after I restart my Mac on the latest OS.

Now I have reloaded firefox and all of my bookmarks are missing and the account is unscynced?

Lost my Passwords on my desktop and can't recover them through profile manager, I found them on my android phone and want to recover my passwords from there, but am worried if I try and sync to the desktop, the desktop might overwrite the passwords in the phone.

I switched from Windows to Linux. I have signed in and tried retrieving bookmarks, browsing history and passwords, AFTER already having formatted my computer and deleted Windows. I signed in to the same account, had syncing on, but i can't seem to get any of the stuff back. I didn't have any additional backup files with those. Is there anyway i could somehow restore it all? The bookmarks are most important to me out of those. I'd be extremely grateful for any help

My computer crashed and after restarting I have lost my account data including profiles, history, bookmarks, extensions, open tabs, etc.

I have tried the basic methods suggested online like looking for hidden profiles, finding a folder for old Firefox data on the desktop, restoring from apparent backups that are meant to be there, etc. The account should have been logged in all this time and had sync on, which is not working... but should there be some sort of sync history I can restore from? Or a local backup from somewhat recently?

So I had logged into this Firefox account, but while I was, I forgot my password. I needed to enter the correct code from the email, but I lost the recovery key; I needed to enter in the 2FA code from my phone, then I could now change the password. When I logged in, boom, bookmarks gone. Passwords gone, and browsing history gone. I was waiting for it all to sync, but it had probably synced the deletion of everything possibly. I have no idea what happened, but I do not believe my account was compromised, because I did not get any emails about any new logins. If it is encrypted, how can I decrypt it so I can get my stuff back? Thanks.

You jerks deleted passwords and bookmarks I needed for work just because I reset my password to login. Why in gods name would you think that's a good idea? Why would I ever use your sync function if you're gonna delete my data the moment you get the chance?

My firefox recently crashed (f5ea38ba-f4f8-4224-8ab8-982e19cc72f7) is the crash code if that helps it happened just now, i dont have any additional profiles and no folder such as "old firefox" is there any way i can recover all the information and my old settings or passwords or anything? I am contacting you because I have a colleague who lost all her bookmarks when migrating her Mac computer. She was syncing with her Professional account. When she migrated and used her account to recover her bookmarks, no data came back. Her laptop was wiped and then reinstalled, so it is not possible to recover any data from it.

Would it be possible for you to find his bookmarks?

My pc just did the latest update, the one with the new Logo. It wiped out all my bookmarks and passwords. I can reset the passwords, but I have hundreds of hours of research which was all bookmarked. I have changed laptops four times and each time I did, I would just sign into my Mozilla account and it was all downloaded into my new one.

Did anyone else experience this and were you successful in retrieving this data? Do you have any tips? This was important information on a health condition and I don't know if I can find all of this again.

Please, please help. I tried doing what I found in your forums but nothing helped. Could it be that the information was wiped out by your servers and it's permanently gone? I really need help. Thank you.

I am trying to find a way to restore the previous tabs that I had open. All the standard restore procedures out of the History button or elsewhere are not working due to the account change. Here's the background and scenario: Original account created 1 month ago on old Linux PC New PC purchased and Ubuntu Linux 24.04 installed Firefox installed and configured, bookmarks imported from .html file. No sync account was ever signed in to. Open a crapload of tabs that I wanted/needed to interact with (yes, I need a better task management system) Finally decide to log into sync account, successful sign-in Close browser for PC restart. Upon restart, all configurations from 1 month ago on old Linux PC are present, and no previously-opened tabs come back. Restore session/restore tabs/restore browser all are greyed out, no data to access in history anywhere. Signed out of account, closed browser window and restarted. Still displaying config from old sync account even when not logged in (different theme, toolbar settings)

I am unable to locate any files in the pathway Home/snap/firefox/common/.mozilla/firefox that clearly indicate multiple profiles; there is only one distinct profile folder present. I haven't cleared cache or anything, trying to not touch it more. Is it possible to restore or even see the URLs of those tabs from my session prior to logging in to my sync profile?

My old laptop computer completely died. I installed Firefox on my new computer. However, after signing back into Firefox, my stored passwords and tabs were not available. How do I find/recover saved login passwords and tabs? I am a long-time Firefox user and had a lot of stored information that I assumed would follow my account.

I was using my account for sync my bookmarks, but i hope that was saved in my phone. After check CCleaner deleted all from my laptop, i realize that was also deleted from my mobile. ¿How i can recover all my bookmarks that was sync in my account?

I tried updating Firefox and it failed me. At the end of the day of work I did an automatic update. I shutdown my computer and the next day Firefox worked intermittently as in it would load pages and some it wouldn't load. I thought it was my internet connection and verified in another browser. The internet connection was okay, it was a Firefox issue. Then I notice the Firefox icon was a generic icon. I'm now lost all my bookmarks, which I thought I had in Firefox sync and open windows / tabs. This is a bit frustration that Firefox failed like this and caused me to lose data.
