Hi, strange things happening with Firefox of late. Eg, when trying to log in my mail on o2.pl with saved login/password, now the log in page loads and doesn't show the saved login, doesn't allow me to click in any box either (it previously did it flawlessly). When googling images, it only shows some images and when I scroll down it doesn't show more. Some pages won't load properly. "Content failed to load" on chatgpt. And miscellaneous other glitches on other websites. I have some tabs opened, I want to keep them, don't want to reset Firefox. The problems only appeared with recent updates. What to do? Best. W.

I am on a fresh installation of Debian, with Thunderbird as part of the Debian Cinnamon-Desktop.

I just copied my .thunderbird-profile-folder from a previous installation over and then started Thunderbird. That's all working perfectly fine, accounts are loading, settings are in, all good.

What's quirky is that there is now a .icedove folder. Of course Thunderbird complains about that at the next start, pointing to https://wiki.debian.org/Thunderbird#Adoption_of_User_Profiles. Which in this case isn't helpful.

I delete the .icedove-folder, start Thunderbird and the .icedove-folder get's recreated again. At the next start Thunderbird is complaining about itself again.

It could be "The Thunderbird package comes with a wrapper script in /usr/bin/thunderbird which will do the users profile adoption (if possible). It will be triggered automatically if a user is calling thunderbird from a CLI or via the desktop file." but shouldn't happen in the first place.

After Firefox update it takes up to 10 minutes for the browser to become responsive.

OS: Xubuntu 24.04.2 Apache: 2.4.58 Firefox 137.0.1 and earlier

In general Firefox is working. However, after every update, both major as well as point releases, where Firefox updates and then restarts itself, it almost always starts up and displays the homepage (local page on my machine) but is completely unresponsive. It will not load a locale or a remote page. I can kill all running firefox processes and then manually restart the browser -- with the same behavior. I have discovered that if I wait for around 10 minutes or so, then the browser starts working and continues to work just fine until the next update. Once past this initial update wait, I can kill/restart the browser, reboot, etc. and Firefox is responsive. It is only immediately after the updates that this problem occurs. This has been going on for at least the past six months or so, but is new behavior that didn't exist prior to that. This isn't a show-stopper, but it is very frustrating.

Any suggestions.

1. Why can't I write from one of my accounts but do it from everyone else? I get the following messages and when I talked to one.com they said that I have to update my password for the outgoing server, but I don't know how to do that. I've tried to delete the account several times and even restarted my computer in between, but it will still not work. I´ve installed several accounts from one.com without any problems - both before and after - this one: eva.swahn@one. Now I have to open the webmail every time I want to answer a mail to that address, which is quite tiresome... :/

2. Why can´t I add a web node-account to my Thunderbird? I've followed the instructions on Web node's help site, but Thunderbird still won't let me add the account.

Please, please help!!!

Best regards/Eva

An automatic Firefox update has deleted firefox.exe from my Programs(x86) folder so the shortcut no longer works. I also think that my TALKTALK Internet WIfi also has deleted my own Favourites program that I use to get to various online applications. I have tried a new download for Firefox but still do not get a new working Shortcut.

I use Notetab to view HTM files that I have written. In order to open the file directly from Notetab I must know the location of the Firefox executable. I can find updates but no Firefox executable files in the Program Files, Program Files (x86) or ProgramData folders. The information on my version is attached. I also have a copy of Tor installed on the machine. Thanks.
