I find now that Thunderbird requires Earthlink's password each time an email is sent. Earlier it required it once a day. I am on Windows 11 using Earthlink.net for provider.

I've successfully connected to a hosted Exchange server through EWS and NTLM authentication (kudos BTW). But there is a problem - often during operations against EWS I'm presented with "Login to account XXX failed" "Login to server YYY with account XXX failed". I can ignore it (cancel) and it will work for seconds or minutes but eventually reappear. Sometimes it's very frequent, sometimes is here and there. TL;DR; connection works, I can read directories and e-mails.

From looking at development tools I see these scenarios: 1. POST requests return 200 always (no messsage of course) 2. Eventually a POST would return 401. Then Thunderbird issues a GET, it returns 401 as well but response includes header WWW-Authenticate: NTLM XXXXXX. Then another GET is issued containing header "Authorization" with the value from previous response. This time it gets 200 and continues without POST requests without a dialog. 3. Sometimes there are more POST requests with 401 (I assume in parallel) before a GET is issued and then I see a dialog. Sometimes it recovers (regardless of whether I cancel or retry), sometimes gets stuck with 401 with dialog reappearing each time it tries something. This case it's similar in sense that thunderbird issues GET with 401 and WWW-Authenticate header, issues another GET with Authenticate header but still gets 401.

If I had to guess I'd say the problem happens when POST requests are issued in parallel, not sequentially. OTOH it might be a problem at the server, but it isn't very likely.

I have frequent problems with message filter settings and these problems have been occurring through several of the last Thunderbird versions. All message filters frequently lose "Move message to.." information. "Enabled" check boxes become unchecked "Run selected filter(s) on:... " specified file keeps changing.

When I login into Thunderbird, I continue getting the following error message "Login to server imap.comcast.net with username kfn.appraiser@comcast.net failed". I put in correct password and happens again. Mail server is Comcast. Running Windows 11

I always get: "newmsg Trojan:WIN/SuspiciousAttachmentScript.a" and "C:\Users\newb\AppData\Local\Temp Trojan:WIN/SuspiciousAttachmentScript.a" from Mcafee when I open Thunderbird. I'm only getting this in Thunderbird and suspect it's a false positive of some kind. It's still worrying and I'd like to eliminate this. This has been going on for a couple of months. I've run several cleaners and anti-virus programs on the system, but it still returns.

Still having issues with Thunderbird on my Windows 11 laptop. I tried reinstalling the program but still locks up. Any suggestions or comments would be appreciated Thanks Dave

is there any way to perform a dynamic backup of Thunderbird. By that I mean a regular (e.g. daily) backup of the profile or at least the mailboxes using a scheduler without closing Thunderbird down?

Have been using Juno Email Accounts for past 10 years with Thunderbird Email Client Program for downloading Emails off the cloud. It is now more difficult to make contact with Juno for Tech Support. To do Email one has to have an Email Address and Password ... THEN they need the Incoming Email Server with the Type of server ( POP, SMTP, IMAP ) . Long Story Short it is now Impossible to Install Mozilla Thunderbird onto Win10 Machines.

SIMPLIFY THUNDERBIRD IT IS EXCESSIVLY COMPLEX. I CANNOT EVEN SEE HOW TO MOVE MESSAGES FROM THE INBOX TO THE RELEVANT FOLDER IN MY LIST. I PERSONALLY BELIEVE FIREFOX AND THUNDERBIRD ARE OVERCOMPLEX AND NEED SIMPLIFIED. SIMPLES. WHY CANT I COPY AND PASTE THE VERSION NUMBER. BLOODY ARESHOLES . AS I SAID IT IS BLOODY OVERCOMPLEX. I have been using the same Email Address and Thunderbird for Downloading my Emails for over 10 years. Now Thunderbird will Not Install. Am getting a strange Error Message ... Authentication Error : Unable To Log in at Server. This has happened on 3 machines. Why is it now impossible to Install Thunderbird on Windows 10 machines.

I recently bought a new HP laptop running Windows 11, and installed Thunderbird I am still using an older HP laptop running Windows 10, running Thunderbird for years without issues

I installed Thunderbird on the new Windows 11 laptop (without using the USB drive for the profile) and managed to carry over the address book using my account from the old laptop. It is working, but acts odd when deleting emails.

When I delete an email (by highlighting it and hit Delete) in the Inbox, it disappears from the Inbox, but it still shows up in the All Mail folder. When I try to delete it from the All Mail folder (by highlighting it and hit Delete), it disappears for a split second and then comes back. The only way to permanently delete ANY email is to move it to the Local Folders - Trash.

It's like playing whack a mole!

I'm wondering if there is some setting issue, or if I should just uninstall Thunderbird, reinstall it again using the USB for the profile from the old laptop and start all over.

I would appreciate any help!

A few months ago I posted a question on these message boards after losing my ability to receive, send or even review messages/e-mails. For 3 months I was unable to access my e-mail. And I'm not certain hoe they are related, but after a hard drive failure, The only files that could be seen on the hard drive was a file folder labelled Wondershare. I downloaded a Wondershare program (Recoverit) after all my archived messages were wiped from my computer as this was the recommendation from members on the open threads at Mozilla.

While I appreciated the help from the members of this community, Thunderbird has again destroyed my ability to access any e-mails. The Thunderbird program is telling me that the settings that it took me 3 months to finally sort out are no longer operative.

Total garbage, I am not an experienced computer user, and would never have signed up for Thunderbird had I known this platform had no customer support and prone to these sort of failures.

Can anyone help me open my e-mails and move them to a program where I don't have to put up with such nonsense?
