I am absolutely unable to download any addon in Firefox. I already did the reset, tried to add xpinstall (because I could not find it) and disabled my antivirus and firewall. None of these helped. I am using windows 7. Please, help, I'm going crazy.

hello, yes this has to do with your problem: http://time.is/

first please choose the right time zone for where you're actually residing. if your clock is showing a wrong time afterwards, manually adjust the clock, so that you have the correct timezone & time.

hello Venus_Angel9, please check that your system's date, time & timezone are set correctly!

If that isn't the cause of that problem, see this:
https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/unable-install-add-ons-or-extensions

Specifically this paragraph: Software installation disabled

Hello, thanks, but it did not help. Actually I have no idea what is going on but the timezone for my area is wrong. I had to choose the timezone for another country because windows seems to think it's another time. So I don't know if this has anything to do. I am however able to download addons in Comodo Dragon so it's more confusing.

The Timezone isn't as important as the correct year, month, and day of month.

Firefox checks security certificates for secure HTTPS websites and if the "date" is wrong it can "appear" that the certificate is too old, or even too new.

Yes that was it! Thank you so much. Windows was not connecting to the internet timezone service. I checked the box and restarted my computer and now everything works.
