Can't download the Flagfox add-on.. Says I must have Firefox 57.0 or better. So I downloaded Firefox browser, figuring I would get 57.0 or better. But still get Firefox 52-point- something (It's up to 52.7.4esr now). I have done this to try to upgrade several times in the last few months - but 52.7.4esr is the best I get. Why do I not receive 57.0 or better when I download Firefox browser? Thank You for your time. verif@myself.com

hi, you appear to be using xp - support for that old operating system was dropped after firefox 52. you'll still get security updates of the extended support release branch of firefox 52 for a couple more months, but newer versions of the browser won't run on your system any longer: Firefox has ended support for Windows XP and Vista

you can download an older version of the addon though that is compatible with firefox 52: https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/addon/flagfox/versions/5.2.3

Please update your Flash as is a security risk : Flash 27.0 r0 Flash Player Version: 29.0.0.140 Current Version https://get.adobe.com/flashplayer/otherversions/ Step 1: Select Operating System Step 2: Select A Version (Firefox, . . . .) Note: Other software is offered in the download. <Windows Only>

If feeling brave there are older versions of Flagfox still available for testing : Suggest read known issues before trying something old https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/flagfox/versions/

Both www.mozilla.org and www.mozilla.org/firefox/all/ serve Firefox 52 ESR to useragnet that show you have Windows XP or Vista. If you were to actually download 32-bit Firefox 53.0 or newer like 57.0 or 59.0.4 for Windows then it would not run anyways as it needs Windows 7, 8, 10.

Firefox 52.9.0esr out on June 26 (besides any security stability fixes 52.9.x esr) will be the last major update for the old Fx 52 ESR branch and will be the last to still run on the old EOL Windows XP and Vista.

Besides upgrading to Windows 7, 8, or 10 you could dual boot with a Linux distro as some still support the old 32-bit CPU's. This way you can then use current Releases of Firefox and also fully support HTML5 players for video/audio (need to make sure you have packages like FFmpeg installed) unlike with WinXP being more limited without doing workarounds due to lack of media features packs support from Microsoft.

Xubuntu and Lubuntu is a couple examples to look at that supports 32-bit CPU's and is lighter. I do suggest to stay away from heavier desktop managers like Gnome3 and KDE.
