Thunderbird has stopped fetching new messages, giving this message.

The current operation on 'Inbox' did not succeed. The mail server for account ... responded Invalid UID fetch attribute XSENDER

I'm running release 52.2.1 on Windows 7.

Only the most recent messages give this error. Previously fetched messages display properly.

There has been no change to the account settings. Whatever happened seems to have happened at between 9 PM yesterday and 4 AM today. Subsequent messages are listed, but don't open, giving this message.

Today I installed a piece of software on my Windows 7 64bit environment and at the end it rebooted my machine without warning and now when I start Thunderbird, I just get the spinning circle. I presume something got corrupted during the shutdown. How do I get it restarted. Firefox itself doesn't have anything in the crash log. Is there a crash log for Thunderbird? I'm not getting an error during startup, just the spinning circle. The Thunderbird window looks normal with my email folders on the left and it says "Thunderbird Email - Inbox" where my mail normally is. I clicked on 'read messages' and that's when the spinning circle started. Tks in advance. ...Ian

Having an issue with Thunderbird/comcast email account in that messages are apparently sent, but don't display. Asked that help be sent to Firefox/Yahoo account so could read. Firefox asked to change it's password. Did so. New password does not work. Changed three times and still doesn't work. Old pw doesn't work either. Had some issues with setting up "Forum account". It didn't like the Firefox/Yahoo account so switched to Firefox/Microsoft account. What a mess. Please help!

I'm not seeing this behavior from other web sites, just Schwab and mail.speakeasy.net. I'm using ssl/tls port 995 with Thunderbird 45.6.0 and speakeasy ISP mail. I get Thunderbird status, "Connected to mail.speakeasy.net" but nothing beyond that. The next phase would be the server asking for my password but I don't get that far. When I change security to "none" then Thunderbird does prompt for password and download mail. I am able to connect to speakeasy web mail at the same address using Firefox.

On Firefox 50.1.0, I the schwab.com address is redirected to https://www.schwab.com/public/schwab/client_home and produces a blank page. MS IE 11 on the same machine, does successfully download the schwab.com page.

I've tried disable "DHE add ons" without any different results. OS is Windows 7 sp1. I have three of these Win 7 machines and I have had this problem on all three but I have fixed the problem by re-imaging the system disk! Naturally, I'm not too enthusiastic about that solution especially since over a period of days or weeks the problem has come back after being fixed by re-imaging. I'm using ESET ENOD32 virus protection and I have tried disabling it without any better results.

I have used TB for years on both my DT and NB. I'm having a problem with my notebook's TB although it worked a few months ago when I last used it. Now when I try to use email I get a message to the effect that the the user name or PW are invalid, BUT THEY HAVE NOT CHANGED! When I enter it I get into an endless loop of rejection, re-entering, rinse and repeat. So, inexplicably, I cannot send or receive. I set it up years ago so I'm a bit rusty on the process. Please help guide me.

Yesterday my computer was hacked. When I got that all fixed the one thing that came back on line in a mess was my Thunderbird E-mail. I have my columns pretty much back in order but have lost my MESSAGE preview pane, which I want on the side, not below.

list of subjects Date Time Tag Sender Message Preview Pane

The only information I can find is on FOLDER PREVIEW PANES(!).

Please help me get my message previews pane back up. I've been told how to turn off message pane. I'm going crazy here with all this useless information!

I have a Dell Laptop and am running Windows 7 and use Firefox for my browser.

Thank you, Lorraine Calvert
