My email address is [edited] @roadrunner.com Since early May, I haven't been able to get emails because I keep getting asked for a master password. I don't know it - I don't remember ever having to create one. Please help.

My Thunderbird cache is using a gigabyte of disk space. I'd like to clear it, but it's not clear to me if I would be wiping out stored messages when I do that.

I like to download my emails to my computer (and keep copies on the server, too). I thought that was what I was doing, since I can view my emails when offline, but maybe I'm just accessing the cached copies?

Will I lose my old emails if I clear the cache?

Hi there, My preview panel is working very badly, it either shows the content of the email or is completely white. What can I do to remedy it? - In some cases the emails appear in very strange codes, thousands of lines like this (iVBORw0KGgoAAAANSUhEUgAAAPAAAABGCAYAAADyxhn6AAAAAXNSR0IArs4c6QAAAARnQU1BAACx jwv8YQUAAAAJcEhZcwAA) - in other cases, totally blank - in other cases it's everything ok It's working fine, receiving and sending all emails.

Hello, I own and operate my own business in the automotive repair sector however my direct computer knowledge is not sufficient in many cases. My issue is that my Gmail and Thunderbird is linked to send messages to my clients for estimate purposes. Incoming mail to Gmail as well as outgoing from Gmail gets copied into Thunderbird. Assuming that Thunderbird had so many emails on the screen I asked the internet on how to do a mass email delete. Now I assume "that" is the reason why all my labels/folders are now empty I can both Gmail and Thunderbird? These folders held important invoices, contact information and just important information for me to go back into should a situation require it. How do I recover all of my deleted messages in Thunderbird? Will this repopulate the folders with my missing information?? The individual who set it up for me is an expert in the field however I am unable to make any contact with him. He's not responding to any of my messages or calls. Please help. Now please remember I am very ignorant when it comes to this type of experience. Please provide me with the most elementary explanations for this recovery process. When I click on 'Outgoing Server', then 'Edit', there isn't an 'OAuth2' option listed as an option in the drop-down list for Authentication Method.

I updated to the most recent Thunderbird, and the option is still not listed.

Please let me know what I need to do to set up OAuth.

When I start up my Windows 10 laptop, Thunderbird tries to connect to my Hotmail email account, but it can no longer make the connection to the Outlook imap server (imap-mail.outlook.com) apparently because my password is no longer accepted. I just get the message box "Login to server imap-mail.outlook.com with username neil.january@hotmail.com failed - enter new password". There is no new password. I have not changed the password, and Thunderbird was connecting without trouble until a few days ago. What should I do?

Emails still get through to my Android phone with no trouble.

I have been receiving emails and newsletters from a number of companies for many years. Suddenly last December many stopped coming. I have been in touch with one in particular and I am still on their mailing list. I am unable to find anywhere I can check. And before anyone says check your Junk folder. I do that every day. It has gotten to the point where I will have to stop using Thunderbird. Where can I look to find out what is wrong.

I found this description of how to use a thunderbird email template online:

Open the template from the Templates folder whenever you want to use it to send a message. Make any additions or changes to the message, and then click the "Send" button to send it. If you don't want to send the message at once, you can select "Save" from the toolbar, and Thunderbird will save the modified message in the Drafts folder, leaving the template unchanged.

The problem is, that when I open a template (right-clicking to open it in a new window), I can't make any changes at all. I can't even delete the dummy recipient and replace it with the one I want. What is missing here? Thank you.

Hi I have a Virgin.net email account. I use MailWasher to check my emails & delete unwanted/spam messages. I then open Thunderbird. Some messages that I want to keep are visible in MailWasher but not Thunderbird. I can also access emails by my phone or Virgin webmail - the emails are missing there too. MailWasher checks for new emails frequently and, I assume, deletes those messages which are not visible in Thunderbird on the next check. I have checked all folders in Thunderbird and webmail including Deleted, Spam/Junk and the missing emails are not there. This is a new issue, only happening over the last few days. Is it possible for Thunderbird to delete messages without my knowledge and without sending them to Deleted/Junk?

I use Thunder bird v.115.8.1 64bit for sending emails. I have several accounts (gmail, apple, talktalk, etc) but the only account that has stopped working for at least a year is the Apple account. It used to be xxxxxx@me.com but now is xxxxxx@icloud.com. I have gone through the instructions both on the Apple site and on your modzilla site several time and it will not allow emails to be sent. Receiving is usually ok, but sending always ends up with messages ranging from "reenter password " to "SMTP server not recognised".

SMTP Settings are currently: email address: myname@icloud.com smtp server: smtp.mail.me.com Port: 587 Connection: SSL/TLS Authentication method:Password User name: myname@icloud.com

IMAP imap.mail.me.com Port:993 Connection: SSL/TLS Authentication method:Password

I suspect it may be the app-specific password that is to blame but it is not possible to check in Apple's site. You can only replace the password and write it down. However the pw is displayed when you check the saved passwords in Thunderbird which I have verified.

Any thoughts?
