Dear Mozilla, My husband put in this email years ago. He passed away on May 9, 2020. Since then I am learning what I can about IMAP. I've been having trouble with both receiving and sending emails on and off for the last few weeks. It's very frustrating; Could you please tell me how to fix it permanently? Thank you.

I have Thundebird version 91.10.0 and Windows 10... Thunderbird recently quit sending and receiving from Gmail. If I use the "Normal" password setting then T Bird says that password is bad and it isn't. If I use the OAuth2 password setting then a Google screen pops up and prompts me to enter my Gmail address and then it says it is a bad address and it is not.... I have checked the server setting for IMAP and STEMP and they are correct. I have tried uninstalling T Bird and reinstalling. The problem still persisits.... How can I solve this problem.

With Thunderbird 91.10.0 (64-bit) on Mac the "dismiss" function fails to work on one single reminder. All others disappear when "dismiss" is clicked.

For about the last week Thunderbird beta 102.0b5 (32-bit) refuses to connect to my gmail email account. I've checked the sign in details, which haven't changed in years and I can still sign in to gmail via a browser using the very same login details and yet thunderbird refuses to login.

Constantly comes up with mail server responded email / password not accepted despite the very same details working perfectly via any browser.

I've had numerous problems since this update. Right now as of this message Emails won't download, I lost the ability to send emails, and the included troubleshooter doesn't help!

I have moved group of 5 messages from Inbox to the wrong local folder (IMAP account, Thunderbird 91.10.0 portable). You can say: nice, we have UNDO, so no problem, eh?

Result of UNDO: all 5 messages disappeared. Completely. From mail server, from Thunderbird, from filesystem. Fortunately, these messages were not important. But what if next one will be?

First question is from April 2015. So would somebody finally take this problem seriously and solve it?

I have upgraded to the latest version 91.10.0 64bit and each time I start Thunderbird it asks to upgrade. I have cleared the cache. Uninstalled and reinstalled and the problem still continues.

I am testing out Thunderbird with Dynu.com's email server. The problem is I'm seeing double signatures when I test this. All mail is sent out using the latest version of Thunderbird, v91.10.0 (64 bit) on Windows 10 Enterprise. Latest build and fully updated.

Test 1:

• Dynu - Signature Enabled
• Thunderbird - Signature Enabled
• Result of sent mail = Double signatures (One on top of the other. See attachment)

Test 2:

• Dynu - Signature Enabled
• Thunderbird - Signature Disabled
• Result of sent mail = No signature

Test 3:

• Dynu - Signature Disabled
• Thunderbird - Signature Enabled
• Result of sent mail = Single signature

See attachments to verify.

Now normally this would not be a big deal. However if I'm on the go and need to use their webclient to send an email, it would have no signature in it in order to get it to work with Thunderbird.

When I try to update my account settings in thunderbird from password to oauth2, I am getting secure connection failed error. Imap working fine with password. Thunderbird version 78.7.0 ( 32 bit). Tried accessing outlook.office365.com works without error. Option OAUTH2 giving error.

Does the new beta 102 of Thunderbird get rid of the incessant "not responding" message in the current version. If not, is there a way to go back to an older version that doesn't have this issue? If not, what is the best replacement client for thunderbird?

I have four Gmail accounts which I'm phasing out because of the absurd Google policies and convolutions. I've added four new accounts with another, my own mail hosting service. all the four Gmail accounts I have set to forward all to thee new accounts.

The problem is every time I start up Thunderbird it defaults stubbornly to the previous Gmail account which subsequently it cannot log in and for a password.

I tried everything, setting the other account as default account, unchecking server settings [i.e.check for new messages at start up].

Since I have much (downloaded) information still in subfolders that I need to access from time to time I have not yet deleted that account.

Nothing seems to work, every time I start Thunderbird it immediately goes to that previous default Gmail account and then prompts me for "mail server password required".

The strange thing is that the other remaining three Gmail accounts which have identical settings do not create a problem.

how can I make this stop for once and for all?

Hello, Thunderbird 91.10.0 puts a heavy load on the processor - 70 percent or more. Is it possible to reduce it and is it a program failure? Thanks for help. Richard Z.

TB was working fine. My computer PSU died and it has now been replaced and everything else works but TB loads and goes unresponsive immediately the mouse is clicked when in focus. Uninstalled from Windows 10. Powered down. Brought back up, checked to see if TB was gone and it was. Installed a fresh copy. Same issue. I have G-Data firewall but that was there previously and didn't change anything apart from the new PSU.

How to proceed to get TB back, having to use Outlook meantime.

Hi. I am getting the dreaded server connection timeout on thunderbird. The interesting part is, that it happens only when connected to one specific wifi network. And not all the time - 3 days its ok, than for 1 day, i am getting the error all the time, then it suddently works for some time... I tried all kinds of countermeasures (prolonging the timeout time, disabling antivirus, changing the proxy stettings...). Nothing works. I really have no idea where to continue my investigation... Obviously, the problem has something to do with my wifi configuration, just cant figure out what. Thanks for any suggestions.

Every time I open TB, it crashes and displays 'Not Responding'. I have tired to open in safe mode but the same happens. Sometimes it opens up crashes so I leave it and it slowly starts to work, then it works okay for about an hour then crashes again.

I can't get a crash report as TB wont open and I'm unable to click any buttons.

I have tried %APPDATA%\Thunderbird\Crash Reports\ but only get 5 or 6 txt files containing about 10 to 11 numbers? Not sure if this helps?
