I'm using Ubuntu 20.04, Thunderbird 78.13.0 and Thunderbird 68.7.0

I have an old mailbox on my local drive in the form of deeply-nested, named .sbd folders with with mbox sub-folders which I would like to access via Thunderbird, whilst maintaining the folder names and structure.

I have tried using the importexporttools_NG add-on but at best that imports my 980+ folders as numbered mboxes with a flat structure.

Is there a way to achieve this?

Thanks in advance.

I just installed Thunderbird 91.0 on a new Mac laptop and successfully connected to my office email (managed through Google G-mail), but only 2,000 emails will load into Thunderbird's INBOX or SENT MAIL. (and yes, I can see all the "sub-folders"/filter tags I created in Google) Thunderbird's Account Settings / Synchronization & Storage is set to "Synchronize all messages locally regardless of age" yet each email folder is only showing 2,000 emails. I have over 200,000 emails in this account online that want loaded into Thunderbird. How can this task be accomplished?

I updated my Thunderbird version (78.14.0) recently, and have noticed a significant reduction in the size of the email folder:

"C:\Users\loginID\AppData\Roaming\Thunderbird"

The compressed copy went from 6GB+ down to 1.4GB. I did not perform any Compact Folder or Repair Folder.

Does anyone know if the latest version of Thunderbird gets rid of a lot of junk? That would explain why the folder size went down.

Hello, I have the following issue - I am moving to a new computer and want to move my emails with me. My Thunderbird on my old computer is configured to a POP3 server, and I have stored my emails on disk D, while Thunderbird is installed on disk C. I have transfered both my accounts folder (as described by Thunderbird help) and also transfered my emails folder. The moment I open Thunderbird on the new Computer it renames all my emails subfolders and when opening a mail it says the "file not found" on every email I had.

Please help?

Kind Regards, Alexander

Have tried a few ways to transfer Tbird data including the process on site video.

Each time one of my email accounts did not transfer Folders, email in those folders and older unfoldered emails to Inbox of same email account. Newer (30 day) did indeed transfer.

Other email addresses without folders did fine and address books seem intact.

It's actually transferring from Tbird 78.13.0 on the 32 bit machine to Tbird 91.0.3 on the new 64 bit one

Thanks in advance for any help

Regardless of what version and CPU architecture of Thunderbird is installed, the auto updater keeps telling me that it cannot update Thunderbird and suggests that I visit Thunderbird's website to download the latest version.

Searches related to this problem all either involve Avast antivirus, which I am not using (I use F-Secure TOTAL) or very obsolete versions. To the best of my knowledge, I do not have any specific website blocked in my network, apart from Facebook, and despite searching, I cannot find out any debug options to determine the cause of the update failure.

I have tried uninstalling the product and reinstalling it, also changing between 32-bit and 64-bit versions. Currently running 78.9.1 64-bit under Windows in the Release channel.
