not sure if this is where i should be but i tried the Thunderbird help and got no answer. After the most recent Thunderbird up date and a Thunderbird install over existing one when i go to my drafts folder and click on any draft or save message in there i get a yellow bar at the bottom of the page that i have never seen before . Now i do not want recreate a new profile and lose all my contacts book marks add on etc. how do i remove that yellow bar in Thunderbird mail

I sent an email with multiple BCCs and no CCs or TOs, I put myself as one of the BCCs.

I did not receive it and I do not think anybody else did as well since I asked a few people.

The email is in the sent folder. I tried forwarding the email from my sent folder to myself as CC, and that worked. I also tried fowarding as BCC, and that worked.

So what is going on? Is BCC working? How can I know for certain? Do I need to foward the email as BCCs to all my BCCs to get this to work?

Failure by filters whose action is to DELETE. As stated in subject. Uncomplicated.

Other filters work (they distribute msgs into specified folders).

With Windows11 and Thunderbird 115.10.1, I am suddenly unable to send emails. It has been fine up until a few days ago and as far as I am aware, nothing has been changed.

Hello, I did look for related posts but found nothing close enough to this so I thought I would create a post. I don't ever recall having this issue before v102 was introduced but now it happens once in a while but not always.

If I am in the inbox of my main mail account and choose to delete a message, it goes away and then reappears almost immediately. There is a box that shows up at the bottom right of the screen that says: The current operation on inbox did not succeed. The mail server for account (my main mail account is shown) responded: UID MOVE failed. This account is in Canada on the Bell Canada network so perhaps it is an ISP issue?

I have 3 mail accounts set up - all IMAP. If I close TB and reopen it, the message is gone as if it required the program to close in order to complete the delete request.

I have set up my own domain guytec.org using Namecheap. The alias for email is tguy. I have pointed this new email to my gmail address. I can receive emails into my thunderbird Gmail box from tguy@guytec.org. I want to write emails with sent from tguy@guytec.org showing? How??

Normally when you starting to write a new email, Thunderbird will set the 'from' address to the address of the account whose mailbox you're current browsing.

However, I have a saved search that entirely contains email from my secondary (work) account, but if I start a new email while browsing it, it picks my default (home) email address. This has caused me to accidentally send emails from the wrong address more than once!

Is there any way to change it so that it'll set the 'from' field of new emails to my work email when browsing that specific saved search?

My wife and I each have our own Thunderbird accounts. They were created a long time ago, at different times. I’m pretty sure that they were not set up identically. She has recently experienced a problem: the number of new emails downloaded (as shown in the lower left corner of the screen) doesn’t match with the number of new and unread emails listed in the Inbox (the emails shown in boldface). Something else, though I think related: In the upper left corner of the screen, on the same line as the word Inbox, is a small circle with a number inside. I think that number gives the number of unread emails in the Inbox. Her number shows 20 but the actual number (boldface) is 15. Is this a serious problem? Is it a problem at all? If so, how to fix it? Thanks.

In a recent email Thunderbird sees an HTML message as plain text, and does not decode it. The message is decoded by my phone using "Email - Fast & Secure Mail by Edison Software". See attached screenshot. Normally Thunderbird suceeds where phone apps fail.

I have been using TB for years. I just discovered this morning on my W11 system, that in my message filters labeled "head hunters" that individual domain names are being deleted. This is on top of having to run rules manually to get them to take effect.

Let me be clear: I capture email address and strip them to domain name, add them to the list called "headhunters" and have that set up for ending with. This way I don't have to have one for each person from that entity that contacts me. So I had at the end of last week, something like 20 entries. Today, I have maybe 10.

I have been going through many reports and I am seeing similar complaints about rule elements going away, and I even got the impression one person was having Rule sets get deleted (Rule set would be a Name, which then has individual rows to act on).

I have folders that have been defined to have removal of all email older than, say, 30 days. I have my inbox rule that gets rid of all emails over 400 days old.

Can this set of processes somehow be in conflict so that Thunderbird is deleting elements in rule sets?

Scenario: I have two E-Mails configured in thunderbird. For simplicity, let's assume they are: `alice@gmail.com` and `bob@cock.li` .

I have configured both via SMTP, and they are *totally different* SMTP servers (Gmail vs. cock.li)

If I compose a message from "alice@gmail.com" to "bob@cock.li", then when I reply from Bob's inbox in Thunderbird, everything is OK.

However, if I compose a message from "alice@gmail.com" to "bob.extra@cock.li", using the `.` alias feature of cock.li, then although Bob gets the message in his inbox, clicking "Reply" will actually set "From" as "alice@gmail.com" and "To" as "bob.extra@cock.li" !

To be very clear: this happens when clicking reply in Bob's inbox in Thunderbird.

I think this is a Thunderbird issue because:

• It happens even if I compose the E-Mail from Alice's webmail (i.e. Browser) (Note: Alice still exists in Thunderbird)
• It DOES NOT happen if Alice DOES NOT exist in Thunderbird
• It DOES NOT happen if I try and reply as Bob via cock.li's webmail (i.e. Browser)

My guess is somehow when Thunderbird sees both Alice and Bob as valid accounts in Thunderbird, but the recipient was an aliased version of Bob, it somehow gets confused.

I used to be able to select a range of e mails using the cursor to select the first e mail and then press shift key and the last email with the cursor to select the range of e mailsin my inbox to delete them. I could use the delete key, the button in Thunderbird or right click to bring up some functiosn such as delete selected messages. When I do this now the messages, which are normally unread, show as read but have not been deleted. I try again with the now read messages but they still will not delete. Its fustrating

Urgent Help Please as lost ALL EMAILS - I cannot get to post in Thunderbird: 1) I've now spent 4 hours, (from what was trying to sort a 'simple' problem on the server), as I couldn't send or receive any emails, as they think I've 6.5Gb of data on it, in spite of my deleting all my emails off it. So they allowed some extra space to temp sort it again. It's been an issue for about 3mths now. But I deleted everything just the other day having confirmed that was not deleting them off my laptop and that the previously lost emails 2 yrs ago weren't still on their server.

But now checked back on my email client Thunderbird, and I've no emails. They're all GONE bar the odd few I've put into folders (I stopped using folders years back as that lost all my emails way back then!), so I'd been keeping them all in the Inbox. Although I've a few old Inbox files with previous old old emails in so I can access them if I need to. But at least their there! But now again I've just lost everything. This is such a disaster.

Over the last 2yrs it's been going OK until today. Now it's LOST ALL MY EMAILS. I'm as per usual up to my eyes and have to travel this friday for meetings next week. The last thing I needed today was this. I've lost so much data and info in those emails it's doesn't bare thinking about. From show tickets that I need, medical info and data, to flight details to all sorts of crucial data. My ONLY saving grace is that anything I've replied to, I have a copy in the sent folder.

So Please Forgive this being in Firefox, as I can't even add it to Thunderbird help area!! I've had to reset my pw too just to sign in. Sadly right now it all feels so very upsetting I'm thinking I'll have to just have to start using another email client! If every 2 yrs I lose all my emails then this is just not acceptable. What's so upsetting is had I saved the Inbox file when I saw the 13Gb file size, a bit eariler then, I think I could have saved them. I fear though that the remote server people deleted something, that was somehow still linked to my system and that's meant they've deleted my emails off my laptop too! Terrifying! (Perhaps that is what happened before back in '22. ???) I did look at a 'Sync' settings but not sure what they did so cancelled back out of them.

Sub issue to get help : 2) Error to Sumbit to Thunderbird: Sadly I've gone around and around your system saying Ask Question when nothing answers my query on the Thunderbird email questions. But when you click on Ask Question it just takes you back around the system again / Browse all Programs / re click on thunderbird/ reclick on Emails and back to list of FAQ's but nothing helps so click on Get Help and back around you go in a deja vu system.

I have just set up a new Linux Mint desktop and configured TB for my btinternet email account.

Looking at the address book, all the contacts that have appeared in it, contain "TimeStamp+a series of numbers" before the @ sign of every address.

In the btinternet account contacts, the addresses are as you would expect them to be, without the extra timestamp+number.

Is there a way of getting rid of that, or do I have to edit every address?

Since updating to Thunderbird 115.10.1, my email/message list scrolls all the way to the top of the list when new emails/messages arrive. I then have to scroll back down to see the new incoming emails/messages. Before updating, when I received new emails/Messages they would be added to the bottom for my list, no scrolling needed. That way I could just start reading with out scrolling back down. I have the sort set to Date/Ascending. This was working correctly before the update. Haven't found a way to stop it that I know of.

Windows 10 Pro Desktop PC I am using Tunderbird for my gmail account. Version 115.10.1 (32 bit) Ever since there was a update (upgrade?) to gmail I can no longer use Thunderbird for my gmail. I don't know if it's at the Thunderbird end or the gmail end.

Here are the messages I recieve: First is on the actual email message and the second is a "pop-up" msg in the lower right of my screen.

Error on the composed message: "Your message was sent but a copy was not placed in your sent folder (Sent Mail) due to network or file access error. You can retry or save the message locally to Local Folders/Sent Mail-Rick.Reckage@gmail.com"

Error message at bottom right of Thunderbird: "Connection to server.imap.gmail.com timed out"

Thank you for any help to fix this. I like Thunderird so I contribute. I want to be abble to continue using it for gmail ifmpossible.

I have had Thunderbird email account for years and now I have problems getting my emails to come through on a regular basis. I have to shut down my PC and then restart to get emails to come through. What is the problem. Thanks, James Craig Herring
