Earlier this week, when Thunderbird updated, I lost access to Thunderbird on my PC. The program is not on my PC. However, I can still get my email on my iPhone and the cloud.

How should I restore Thunderbird? Should I just download and reinstall it? I just want to make sure I still have access to all my old emails and contacts.

When I looked at my profile I find that there are several folders created for each of my email addresses at different times. I had wondered about the possibility of clean install of each of the accounts (IMAP) so this would pickup everything from the individual servers. Then copying across the local folders and my address book. Is this possible/feasible? Would it just be easier to import everything? Where is the address book stored. I also have TB backed up on an external drive (insurance). Thanks

When I transferred my icloud email account to TB only a few of the 15 folders were transferred. Troubleshooting first with Apple, I was told to delete the account and re-create it. I did but that did not restore to lost folders. How can I get the rest of my folders to transfer?

MacbookPro needed service which wiped hard drive. Reinstalled back up (to Ventura), but Thunderbird app was trashed. Reinstalled Thunderbird, but I can not see received emails from 2019-2023 (now), but oddly, can see all sent emails from 2020. How do I get my missing emails and categories? The web instructions make no sense to me. As I understand, my profiles are separate from the app, but it is not clear at all how I can toggle from one to another while in Thunderbird. The newest Thunderbird upgrade has ruined my email. I cannot send email and Thunderbird no longer recognizes my settings. I want to remove this update and go back to the previous build that I had. If this cannot be fixed I will need to get a new email manager.

I have tried multiple suggestions from the help site. Still cannot get Thunderbird to accept settings -

My husband has Thunderbird for his emails. I am trying to set up Thunderbird for my emails. I am not able to get past the point where you must select IMAP or POP3. System seems stuck on "checking password". I've had Microsoft outlook for a long time. I want to set up Thunderbird. We have a home based business. I need my email system up and running. I can't seem to delete an old account on Thunderbird. It says it's a "special account" with no identity associated with it. Can someone help? I tried uninstalling and re-installing Thunderbird and the old account still appears.

I'm trying to set up a new protonmail account, too, and Thunderbird says it doesn't recognize the (correct) password. Is the old account causing the problem?

I am about to lose access to my work gmail account (new job). I used Google Takeout to download all my emails in .mbox format. I then used Mozilla Thunderbird (with the ImportExportTools NG add-on) to access the emails. They are currently available in a folder called WorkEmailBackup within my local folders section on Thunderbird.

I would like to add these emails to my pre-existing personal hotmail account. I have set this account up on Thunderbird. However, when I drag the WorkEmailBackup folder into my hotmail inbox (in Thunderbird), not all the emails are copied over. Thunderbird says there are 7730 emails in the WorkEmailBackup folder, but only 2212 will copy into my hotmail account. I have tried several times, but the transfer always stops at 2212 emails, and I can see that emails are missing. I have also tried highlighting the emails individually (rather than copying the whole folder), but have had the same problem.

I am desperately trying to import a contact book into TB. In CSV format. All I get get is 100's of unreadable records. My version of TB is 115.4.3 (latest). The import tool provides no info whatsoever about the CSV format. I found a bit of info about the format on Mozilla. I only need a few fields for the record. First Name, Last Name, Home Email, Work Email. These are supposed to be field numbers 1,2,5,6. I made a CSV file according to this, but import is as said impossible. Has anyone had any luck with this? regards /peter

I am running out of space in my email account. Is it possible to export specific folders of emails out, so that I can delete those folders (and the emails in them) to make some space. I don't want to do a full export out, just those specific folders, so that if I ever need to refer back to those emails, I can import just those back in.

Is this something that can be done?

I find impossinle to install Thunderbors pm ,u Windows 11 laptop. The different menus presented are wau to cpmplicated for an avereage person. Currently I am stuck with a dialog box the simply says "Input server already exists. Beyond this, these are several dialog boxes I don't understand.

I respectfully ask for my money paid for this program and I will delete it from my computer.\

I have two Problems. 1st How do I delete a large number of unread and unwanted e-mails except one at a time? 2nd How do i arrange my e-mails in Date Received Order?

Why is it that every time Thunderbird updater installs on my laptop, my taskbar link to it becomes unfindable and I have to 1 click on it so that Windows says it can't find it and would you like to remove it so I can then say yes, 2 wait until the taskbar link disappears, 3 go to my desktop icon for Thunderbird and right click to have it pin to the taskbar (AGAIN!) What does updater do to the taskbar pinned icon that it won't work until I remove, replace it, and go back to work??

Updater should NOTHING to do with any of my taskbar icons, let alone the one for Thunderbird. Tell me something I don't know.
