I have tried the solutions posted in https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/1362468#answer-1469591 to change the column header color. The solution worked on my windows 10 pro laptop, but not on my office Win 10 pro desktop. I did exactly the same for both machines. I also tried the solution "Didnt work for me right away, had to place the file in another folder, think has something to do with new version of firefox. My new directory\file was: C:\Users\<username>\AppData\Roaming\Thunderbird\Profiles\<string>.default-release\chrome\userChrome.css"

Both computers are on TB ver. 102.8.0 (64-bit). Any ideas? Many thanks.

We work with Thunderbird on local PC's but for roaming support we have the Thunderbird profiles on a network drive. Lately we noticed that on occasion the network drive is slow or disconnects for a second at which point Thunderbird looses it's lock or the connection to the profile. This results in then giving a popup to reenter the credentials for the mailbox. Is there some setting in Thunderbird where we can tell it to try again for a few times before giving the error?

I found the option 'network.protocol-handler.external.disks' but I cannot find any description on what this setting actually does, is this setting relevant to this issue?

I would appreciate any help you can give us.

Hi dear community,

recently, a client company which provided me with an Exchange mailbox switched to "modern authentication", which caused my old configuration not to work any longer.

I tried to change authentication method from "standard password" to "oauth2", as I have done it before with others, but I face a weirdly display password prompt (see screenshot1), with no field nor "ok" button.

Moreover, console contains error messages (see screenshot2) that I am not able to understand, but which seem related to the same web content displaying.

I tested accessing the same mbox with Apple Mail and it worked like a breathe, so it does not seem to come from the provider.

Version I use is: Thunderbird 102.3.3, on macOS (11.6.2, also tested on 12.6 without success). Cookies are accepted in Thunderbird parameters.

Any help would be very appreciated - please tell me if you need further info to analyze.

Just build a new PC and moved my Thunderbird and Firefox settings to the new PC. I've done this a few times over the years and it usually works perfectly. However, this time after moving Thunderbird and starting downloading new mail, it is REALLY slow, taking 8-9 seconds to download each message.

I have always used the following locations to keep all the profile data: C:\mozilla.org\Users\Johnny\Thunderbird.slt C:\mozilla.org\Users\Johnny\Firefox.slt

When moving to a new machine, I install a fresh Thunderbird and Firefox, then copy over the entire folder C:\mozilla.org\Users\Johnny to the new machine. I then go and modify C:\Users\Johnny\AppData\Roaming\Thunderbird\profiles.ini and add a new profile block like this: [Profile2] Name=Johnny IsRelative=0 Path=C:\mozilla.org\Users\Johnny\Thunderbird.slt Default=1 When I brought up Thunderbird, everything looked normal. When I clicked on Get Messages, it first started downloading from my Comcast account, which normally does 2-3 messages per second. It was now taking 8-9 seconds per message. The next account it downloads from is Network Solutions and it is taking just as long for this account.

I've looked around in the TB settings and can't figure out what is happening. I haven't seen this issue with past migrations. Anyone have any idea what is going on?

Thank you!

I have used Thunderbird for many, many years. Never had a problem until lately when I moved to a new computer. I now have a problem with "address book". Problem could be either import or export or in the use of address book. The problem may have started when I moved the address book from my old computer (Win 10 pro 64 bit, Thunderbird 102.6.1) to a new computer (Win 11-Pro, Thunderbird 102.7.0, 64-bit) Old computer is OK, new computer has error.

Error: Start to display "inbox" then click -> Tools-> address book. Address book displays, BUT display in on half line spacing, not the normal full line spacing - if correct data displays correctly. In half line spacing, lines overlay each other. Also I can not modify a contact and I can not add a new contact.

I have only one profile, no extras on Thunderbird. When I click on a contact that display incorrectly I get a grey box (almost the whole display) and I can not type into that box. Can not close that box, can not go back, can only close tab.

Tried on web to backup address book. In command prompt (the old DOS) with current directory set to: "C:\" typed "dir *.mab /s". Result: "file not found". I can not find any "mab" file anywhere on C:. (Windows is installed on C:. One problem you probably know, when Thunderbird is updated, help files on Web are not updated. (Example web states to go to "run", can not find "run" on Thunderbird menu). Went through many sites on web, can not find file containing address book and can it not back it up, can not fix it, can not where it is. Looked at profile at What went wrong? I am out of luck.

My background: Worked on PC since Windows 3, I am comfortable on PC/Win, repair PCs, etc.

Sorry to bring you this, can not figure this on out. Gerry

I have had this happen multiple times with multiple mail accounts and I've finally managed to narrow down why it happens.

The error: every time I restart Thunderbird, the affected mail accounts reset to the last proper state, which was sometimes weeks ago, requiring Thunderbird to fetch all "new" changes from the server.

If the Thunderbird appdata folder's disk is fully while the program tries to write new data to them, they irrevocably break. The only solution is deleting the account and then entering the login info again, fetching all the messages. I've tried every other possible suggested solution I could find to no avail.

102.9.1 (64-bit), Windows version

Also submitting a simple Thunderbird bug report is an absolute nightmare, for 25 minutes I've been redirected from site to site requiring me to register, then getting redirected again.

I had a crash on my desktop PC, possibly due to an erroneous action of mine, which occurred on December 20th, which has ended with my PC, which after entering the password, the screen locks to black.

I turned to my laptop as a salvation, but when I tried to open my email, for which I use Mozilla Thunderbird, at first I opened the home page, but my email accounts did not appear. Currently, it doesn't even open that page when you tap on that desktop icon.

I'm an 80-year-old male and I'm getting more and more clumsy with the SW of the PC, so I pray that if you can help me it's in a language for the very clumsy in computer matters. I don't speak English so this is automatically translated, so I would appreciate it if you could help me in Spanish to restore my email accounts, since I am no longer used to using Web mail.

My PC is an HP Pavilion x360 -14-cd0018ns, I5 core 8th Gen. / W10 home/ HD ext. 3TB for data.

Thanks a lot. PLOK.

After updating my 2017 iMac from OS Catalina to Ventura (13.2), TB 102.8.0 is taking more than 30 seconds to open. Once open it seems fine, so far, but that startup time is way longer than it used to be. I used Troubleshoot mode to 1) send myself a troubleshoot report via email and 2) clear the starting cache, but that didn't fix the long start-up time. My email accounts are with my website's hosting company, but I doubt the problem would be with my hosting. Please advise on what can be done in TB to address this, thanks.

Hi. I have been using Thunderbird successfully with my email account for years. Recently a new problem has appeared. Generally, if I create a subfolder in Thunderbird I see it in the Comcast webmail, and vice versa. Sometimes, however, it doesn't carry through. I have some that are visible in webmail but don't show up in Thunderbird. I have removed and re-added the account to Thunderbird. Still they don't show up. I have checked with Comcast Support and they say that the account is fine. Is there something I can do to fix this? Thanks for any help you can offer.
