Had to wipe old Win 11 due to corruption. When setting up from scratch, I use 3 gmail accounts. However when I downloaded Tbird, trying to set up myt 3 gmail accounts, Gmail will NOT authorize Tbird. I have tried all advice that I've seen on forums and on YouTubes. None work. Contacting Gmail is impossible. Forums are not providing any solutions. Does anyone have a proven fix? Clearing the "Recent" list when attempting to move emails used to be simple. Go to your profile while Thunderbird is NOT running and delete the panacea.dat file. It's no longer there. The only threads in the support forum suggest the same thing, but the threads are EIGHT years old. Where is the list of entries for the "Recents" folder located and how do I reset it. I have more than 20 entries, most of which I've used only ONCE. How to I clear this mess?

I have been using Thunderbird for a year. It is ok, but some problems are borderline un-tolerable. I have ~3500 emails in my IMAP account. I would like to keep more for a deeper search, but ok - I could handle that. And once in a while, about every month, I am doing something and the Thunderbird decides to re-download all my messages. And it locks me out of all emails for about 2 hours while this process is ongoing. I cannot open emails, I cannot answer - nothing.

I have no "cleaning" software, I do not mess up with the database file.

Is there a way to avoid this re-download? If not, is it possible to avoid the lock-out, to get emails usable while it does it - for example, download the most recent emails first and make them visible at least?

I run a. Thunderbird v 78.14.0 (64-bit) on a Macbook Pro 13"mid 2012 with Mac OS 10.10.5 (Yosemite) b. Thunderbird v 115.5.1 (64-bit) on a Macbook Pro 15" mid 2012 with macOS 10.15.7 (Catalina)

How do I make happen, that I sync the calendars in both Thunderbirds constantly, i.o.w. instantly (like for example the iMAP emails do)??

I find the option for new calendars: "On the network" ... Which network is here meant??? In the help there is not much info about it. I am not using and will not use Google or any kind of "social media" (!)

Can I use my own homepage host (which has some webspace left) in order to sync? Or for example an online storage like mega.nz ?

Or could the both macs just sync the thunderbird calendars just via WiFi/WLAN directly (AirDrop ?) or via Bluetooth ??

It would be so great if calendar sync would be as easy as the emails do!

Our organization uses GoDaddy which worked fine with Thunderbird until GoDaddy migrated to Microsoft Exchange 365/Outlook. According to GoDaddy, Microsoft does not allow any of the authentication protocols offered by Thunderbird for SMTP outgoing messages.

Thunderbird has helpfully added a Microsoft 365 option for SMTP settings in the latest update, but when you click that it says that you have to get a third-party paid app called OWL to make it work.

My question to Thunderbird: is this going to be the only answer to this problem or is it being worked on? Background is that the organization I work with has the GoDaddy Account so I have no control over that choice. I've used Thunderbird to keep my email out of the clutches of Microsoft Outlook and would like that to continue. I've also been donating to Thunderbird for years so I'm not opposed to paying. I just don't think I should have to use a 3rd party app for basic functionality.

As of today, I can no longer send or receive emails in Thunderbird. No settings were changed. I checked and everything is set up the way it should be. Bluehost also confirmed it all looks good.

SO WHY DID THUNDERBIRD DECIDE TO STOP WORKING TODAY? Fortunately I can still get the email within Webmail, but I prefer not to do that, since all my folders aren't set up there. Any ideas what caused this and more importantly, how can I fix it? I do have the latest version of TB.

The images show that it just sits there for a long time trying to send and then the other shows the resulting error message.

I have Thunderbird on two PCs. Thunderbird stopped working on my older PC, Lenovo Z40, Windows 10. I uninstalled Thunderbird on that PC and tried to reinstall. I have downloaded the set up file, but when I open it tells me I need a Microsoft safe app and sends me to Edge browser. I looked at help website but can't see how to overcome this step to get to what is described on the Tunderbird UTube video. Hello, Linux environment is running on my chromebook, thunderbird has been installed. 2 issues: - When I try to install an extension, I always get a message "This extension will have permission to have unlimited access to thunderbird and the computer". and I'm stuck. The add button does not trigger any action. This does the same thing if I want to install a dictionary from the settings. - I have no access shared folders like my Drive on my Chromebook, despite having Linux sharing enabled. I have been using Thunderbird on my PC's for at least 8 years. It has been reliable and easy to set up for use with multiple acccounts. However, in the last couple of weeks it keeps freezing up and the header bar tells me it is "not responding". I have tried closing and reopening the program & restarting my computer, no joy. I wonder if there was an update recently which caused this sudden bug? My current version is 115.6.1

I had a crash on my desktop PC, possibly due to an erroneous action of mine, which occurred on December 20th, which has ended with my PC, which after entering the password, the screen locks to black.

I turned to my laptop as a salvation, but when I tried to open my email, for which I use Mozilla Thunderbird, at first I opened the home page, but my email accounts did not appear. Currently, it doesn't even open that page when you tap on that desktop icon.
