Been using TB for ages - love it - however it has recently stopped receiving emails - what is the cure? Reinstall? New update?

suddenly Thunderbird email stopped working. I keep getting a request to input and change my password and have done that several time. I also have gone through all the steps to ensure all the info was correct and connected properly. My email works fine when I login through the internet. Passwords are correct, connection info is correct. My emails work fine on my phone. I have uninstalled the program but it had no effect. I am using version: 102.0.2 (64-bit)

My version of Thunderbird is 102.0.3(64-bit). It will not update. i keep getting a message that it is not able to download the update and need to download a new version for the update. Can any one help me. Thanks

I have, very reluctantly, had to stop using Windows Live Mail, because gmail will no longer support it. It was a great email program and it did everything I needed. Thunderbird would seem to be the nearest thing I can find to replace Live Mail - but there seems to be some quite staggering basic functions that are missing from it. Maybe I'm alone in wanting to include a picture or two in my emails..? - not as attachments, but as part of 'the visual letter', within the text? Live Mail must be 20 years old at least - but in Live Mail I could insert an image; drag the corners to resize it; add a box rule if I wanted to; and send it on it's way. In 21stC Thunderbird I can, with many a dialogue box, insert an image... but even when I've worked out how to 'resize it', it doesn't actually reduce the file size of the image sent..! So a 7MB image, when 'resized' to something less than 1MB... still actually gets transmitted as a 7MB image - and takes forever! So my question is. How come an ancient, now almost defunct program like Live Mail, is twenty times more agile and user-friendly than 'up-to-date' Thunderbird? And before anyone mentions 'add-ons' - Live Mail did all of this straight out of the box! No 'add-on' searching or anything else required. But maybe including a picture or two in an email is a fairly revolutionary concept? With thanks for your thoughts.

I was told to reboot my system to complete a Thunderbird update.

After the system came up, my main email account wouldn't display. It was there when I went into account setting but wouldn't show. After closing an opening Tbird several times it showed up. now none pf my filters are running. In some cases it says the folder doesn't exist when it does! Most of the rules are missing actions!

I want to talk with a Thunderbird agent for help. I'm not sure if this is the right way to communicate. Thank you for responding. I finally did get the help I needed when I returned home from travelling. A local business uses Thunderbird on a Mac like me. "Ionos", which hosts my website and web mail that goes to Thunderbird helped me on line to put in changes they require but that did not work for me. And I lost all my email except for the last week. Also mail wasn't coming into Thunderbird. It turns out my Avast had something to do with the muck up. It took 2 hrs. to solve the problem. My husband Uri Cogan passed on last Nov. He set me up with Thunderbird and took care of everything related to my computer. He was a volunteer helping here. Without him I am slowly learning what I can. I am finding out that most people don't really know anything outside their lane and any friend I asked was as clued out as I am.

Message: Login to server outlook.office365.com with username xxxxxxx@xxxxxxx.com (my work email account set up thru GoDaddy) failed.

This is not my primary method for using my work email (Gmail's webmail interface is and, yes, still works fine). But every once in a while, I want to use the features of TBird that aren't possible with Gmail. So, I tried running TBird last weekend and got that message. So, first I tried signing in thru GoDaddy (O365 webmail) and used my existing password, and of course it worked fine. I then tried deleting the TBird account and adding it as new. TBird recognizes O365 accounts and I used those settings but, again, the password was rejected. So I went semi-nuclear and uninstalled TBird then reinstalled it. NO DIFFERENCE.

WHY is TBird rejecting my valid password - ESPECIALLY when it was working before?

Please pardon the raised voice all caps here and there - I'm really frustrated and don't understand what broke or how it broke and I can't fix it.

Until yesterday I could click on 'Inbox' and it would shows all emails from all 3 accounts I have set up. There was an update yesterday (102 1.2) Now although I can go to each email account individually, when I click on 'Inbox' it only shows emails for one account.

It also seems that search is also not functioning across accounts.

What must I do in order to enable address book address information. Now when I try to change address information it is as though my keyboard as been disconnected. thanks

Does Firefox save a backup copy of things like address book and archives? It so, where and what are the file names? How do I prevent future updates from removing important data? HELP!

With just 2 email addresses that I have been using for years, I suddenly get this Undeliverable message when attempting to send emails using Thunderbird:

"The mail client submitted this message with bare line feeds, which cannot be sent via SMTP protocol DATA command and receiving system does not support BDAT"

I can receive emails from the 2 addresses fine, I just can't send to them through Thunderbird. When I sign in to Hotmail Outlook Live I can send and receive to these addresses with no problem.

I'm stumped! Any ideas? Can I reset Thunderbird?

Hello! I was wondering if you guys could help me get set up on Thunderbird. I'm having some trouble getting logged in with the "Set Up Your Existing Email Address" section. I'm certain I'm typing in the right login info but it says it is "Unable to login at server.

There is a context menu entry that enables message fetching for individual folders and an about:config setting for doing it for all folders. There is some speculation in a different question that this is necessary to avoid overloading servers.

Is this true and still appropriate? How can I as a user tell what I can set this to?

From a UX point of view it would definitely be better to just check all folders for new mail.

Hi Thunderbird updated itself to 102.1(and now 102.1.1) and it lost 2 of my mailboxes or at least the inboxes. I have tried repair folder in the preferences for each inbox. The inboxes are greyed out. The location in the preferences, imap://driver_al%40*********@pcluster02.stablehost.com/INBOX, takes me now where or at least I can not find it. It is does not even seem like it is checking for new mail in those boxes.

I have a total of 11 mailboxes of mixed imap and pop. Only 2 seem to be effected both imap. I have looked in the profiles folder but do not seem to find them there as the folder names do not match the mailbox names..

I am unable to login to my Thunderbird email account. I was told by my Skybest support team that they would have you call me with the PASSWORD that will allow me to log in. My phone number is 336-200-2068. Thank you!

The last Firefox upgrade did not bring the Firefox address book with it, all my contacts are lost. How could this happen and why, it stops me from using Firefox for emails and I am lost. Need a fast solution to something that should never happen.

Why can I see my e-mail messages and delete them for my djclwebster@saveourchurch.org, but not on my dwebster@saveourchurch.org account or the info@saveourchurch.org Should I "uninstall" Thunderbird to get back the older version or is there a solution for the new update?

Hi, Up to previous version (TB 101), I could send emails to any group from my MacOSX contact list which appeared in send field and I used this all the time to select mailing lists. Now the send to a group fills automatically like before, but sending fails with message "groupname <grouname> is not a valid address" Maybe, if it cannot be fixed soon, and the new address book does not feature MacOSX group sending I wsih to get back to previous version of TB where it worked fine. I attach screen captures, my version of TB is in french language Thank you

I have Thunderbird 102.2.1 (64bit) on a pc win 10. Today it stopped working properly. when opened, the window is white and blank. yet, when i hover the mouse over it, i am able to select from the tab buttons at the top. the only way that i can see thunderbird normally is if i put it into troubleshooting mode. my business depends on thunderbird to work, so please help.
