I have several emails set up on my desktop Thunderbird app (Yahoo, Gmail, Fastmail). For some reason all emails that I receive in Yahoo are also showing up in the Fastmail account. I do not have this set up at Yahoo (I have the standard account that does not allow automatic forwarding) so I believe it is happening in Thunderbird. How do I turn this off? Thanks.

trying to open a link google sent me in regards to deceased fathers email content followed instructions can not get it to work> been to a computer store for help and they can not get it either>

ear Jasmine Tietz: We have completed our investigation and have sent you an email containing a link to a secure portal to electronically download the requested email content available in the Gmail account, INTOTHEFUTURES0957@GMAIL.COM. In order to open the email content (the file that ends in “.mbox”), use any program capable of reading .mbox format files. One such program is Mozilla Thunderbird. To use Thunderbird, please follow the instructions listed below: 1. Visit Mozilla.org and download the program Thunderbird 2. Follow the instructions and install Thunderbird on your computer. Close Thunderbird after you have completed installation. 3. Open the following path/folder on your computer: 4. On Windows XP/2000, the path is C:\Documents and Settings\[User Name]\Application Data\ Thunderbird\Profiles\xxxxxxxx.default\ 5. On Windows 95/98/Me, the path is usually C:\WINDOWS\Application Data\Thunderbird\Profiles\ xxxxxxxx.default\ 6. On Windows 7, the path is C:\Users\[user name]\AppData\Roaming\Thunderbird\Profiles\ xxxxxxxx.default\ 7. On Mac OS X, the path is /Users/[User Name]/Library/Thunderbird/Profiles/xxxxxxxxx.default 8. Look for the “Mail” folder and then the folder named “Local Folders.” 9. Copy and paste the “.mbox” file into “Local Folders.” 10. Open Thunderbird. When you open Thunderbird you'll see the mbox file under “Local Folders.” Google cannot provide further technical support. Hi. From the Wayback machine. We have an older iMac (2011?) in the office running OS X 10.6.8. The version of Thunderbird is 45.8.0. This system used for Email in updating customers, has been used right up until this past week.

We have used GoDaddy for Email for years without any issues, until this week. Godaddy migrated all Email over to Outlook/365 on Monday. We cannot send a thing.

Contacting Godaddy's Migration department, we were given a new server (smtp.office365.com) for outgoing Email. It simply doesn't work.

Obviously, our entire system is outdated, and needs to be upgraded, but is there any way that we can use this system for now, because if is so important to get these Email message sent!

Would any other service/server be compatible with this antiquated system so that we can complete this project?

Thanks for taking the time to read this.

I've just now noticed the Threading automatic default grouping/marking of messages, and it is appalling. Thunderbird/Mozilla either needs to eliminate this (with appropriate warning notices, perhaps) or at least give us the ability to NOT link various messages. It's not only vastly annoying, it can cause severe real-world problems if anyone not in the CC or BCC fields is receiving these messages that were not intended for them.

I suppose for now, the only way to NOT link things that were never meant to be would be to change the Subject when discussing important topics.

Either that, or get a whole new mail service, which I'd prefer not to have to do.

How can I turn off the threading of my emails? Its driving me crazy as when an email comes in after a short time it disappears into the threads and then I have to open each thread to find out who sent the email. At one stage there were 6 emails noted near the inbox but no new unthreaded message, all went to respective threads. Very time wasting.

I had to delete and add back several accounts due to a change in servers (cox.net to yahoo.com). Prior to this I just had the All Folders, Local Folders and below. Now I have the Unified Folders and below, which are essentially a duplicate of the folders in the old All Folders. (See attached image) Not only is it making things confusing but I'm storing duplicate emails and it seems to be affecting performance, Thunderbird now randomly quits and restarts. So, how do I delete either the All Folders or the Unified Folders and move the few sub folders that are unduplicated into the remaining group?
