TB 102.11.0 (64-bit) Win 11 22h2 22621.1702 Just changing email clients as the dreaded re-appearance of deleted mails plays havoc with this old guy's mind as wel as my wife's. This problem goes back a while and does not seem to have been viewed as the major bug it is. Last time I looked here Toad was relaying a totally unacceptable 15+ stage workaround for this feature. The coders need to change up a couple of gears imho. I am putting this up simply to say that when I receive notification that this problem has finally been attended to then I'll give it another go.

I run emails from yahoo, gmail, live & hotmail on TBird and have for years. Instead of simply always displaying the inbox contents from the top message down, it has switched to displaying from the 2 oldest unreads down, with all those above unviewable until I scroll up. I have no idea why they'd think anyone would want that! How do I get just display every inbox & folder from the top message down, as it did for DECADES before a recent change?

Thanks

Ocassionally, when I put an email into a folder (e.g. trash, custom folder, etc.) it won't be there when I check. I've checked folders above and below to ensure that I haven't mishandle the email. If I check "All mail", "Important mail" it will be there. Sometime it will not even be there. Never know when it is going to happen.

The other issue is that sometimes several emails will be combined into what looks like 1 email message. I'll click on the message to open and several other emails will be there also. I suspect this may be due to that these other emails have replied to my original message instead of sending a stand alone email. Then sometimes when I file one of these replies into a folder, they disappear.

I have a very large Message Rules set that I use to file incoming messages into various folders in my inbox. All rules filter on the 'from' field only.

Recently TB has started putting emails from some, but not all, new (to me) email addresses in one specific folder. I've very carefully checked, and the 'from' words in the new emails being moved have no intersection with the words in my filter list for that folder. The rules are otherwise working fine. The misfiled messages are often order confirmations, notices from forums about password resets, etc. What might be causing this?

In order of priority: 1. Disable Keyboard Shortcuts/Hot Keys. I have no need for them, and just recently, after many years, I manage to get the cursor to jump to an Address Field or to the middle of the text I'm typing......then I have to find the text I've typed in the middle of nowhere, and look at the Address Field before I send a message to someone I don't want to send to. This takes up a lot of time, and proofing and proofing and proofing. 2. TB has gotten a Lot better with embedded Photos, but still can't copy a photo back to it's source for additional editing. So it's always a good idea to save the original source in a readily available place, just in case. If TB could copy photos from it's text field like standard Windows apps do, that would be a nice improvement. 3. I paste text into TB from who knows where, a newspaper, a website. Invaviably the Font Style, Size, etc is different. And TB's non-standard text design has a hard time. I've learned to copy everything to Notepad to fix it up. It's easy to do, so this is not too important as the 1st 2.

So Thanks Thunderbirders, I don't think there's a better email client.

I can see the messages ok on Sky webmail and I have tried many times over the weekend to access them on TB. Can you pls help?

Thunderbird 102.11 - I accidentally hit "Don't ask again" when confirming to delete an email from my inbox. Now it doesn't ask and immediately moves it to the trash. How can I get Thunderbird to ask before deleting? I've seen references to mailnews.emptyTrash.dontAskAgain and mail.warn_on_delete_from_trash which isn't the problem because it asks before deleting trash but NOT from my inbox anymore.

I downloaded an add-on but didn't install it due to the warning about how it is old tech and can access everything because it doesn't ask for permissions... sounded scarey :)

This confirmation used to work until an hour ago when my fingers slipped while deleting a message (probably hit delete and backspace).

HELP, please. Thanks in advance
