I did search for solution before posting this. Couldn't find any recent fixes. Using Version 115.10.1 I have used Thunderbird for years to get various emails. Including 2 different att.net emails. Until about 2 days ago, this has been working well. All of a sudden I keep getting the popup to login with my password. I looked at the password file to see what was being used. Hasn't been updated for years. I used web browser to login to att.net account, confirmed that the pw listed in Thunderbird was correct. I looked at my att account and found that I setup a secure key in 5/21. Not sure what has changed that I can no longer use thunderbird for att emails. Note: I deleted the account from thunderbird and attempted to re-establish the connection.. I used the automated process that TB had for the settings. got an error using the regular password AND using the secure key. I tried setup manually, making sure that the inbound/outbound settings matched. Still won't let me login. Something has had to have changed.

This page did not help. https://www.att.com/support/article/email-support/KM1086159 System config and results screen prints are attached.

Cancelled setup and started over This time I entered the secure id as the password,

Currently my emails are sorted by conversation. I want this stopped and all messages simply sorted only by date and time. The reason is that some conversations now have 30 odd messages and I have a terrible time finding the exact message I want. This would be much easier if all emails were sorted by date and time only as I can see the title of each. How do I stop sorting by conversation and replace it with standard date and time?

I am using Thunderbird 115 with mostly default settings. When I compose a brand new message, pressing the Enter key inserts a new paragraph, with extra line spacing, and pressing Shift+Enter inserts a line break with single line spacing. This is how I want things.

I am experiencing a problem when replying to emails from a particular sender. Their emails HTML code contains a "<style>" element that removes the extra spacing for paragraphs:

<style type="text/css" style="display:none;">P {margin-top:0;margin-bottom:0;}</style>

When replying to their emails, their HTML is inserted as quoted text, and the "<style>" element affects the whole email, including my response as I compose it. As a result, when I press Enter, I no longer see the extra line spacing, and Enter or Shift+Enter results look the same in the HTML version of my email. Yet they insert different content, and in fact the plain text version of the email still adds two line jumps for paragraphs vs a single jump for line breaks, and I cannot tell while composing.

Then, when I send my email, the recipient email reader (e.g. GMail or Office) appears to somehow pick up the difference again, so my paragraphs are displayed again with extra line spacing. This is an issue, because I cannot tell the difference between paragraphs and line breaks, they look the same to me, and I end up using both interchangeably. But they don't look the same to the recipient, and the resulting response looks messed up.

How can I prevent the quoted email from overriding styles in my own response?

I tried installing the CustomCSS addon to add my own "<style>" element, but unfortunately it gets added at the top of the document, and the quoted response's "<style>" element comes afterwards, thus overriding anything I set.

Perhaps the sender's configuration is at fault (they should not use a global "<style>" like this), but they are a customer, and it would not be appropriate for me to ask them to fix their email configuration.

The only "solution" I can think of is to switch to "Body text" as default style, such that paragraph blocks are never used. I think it is a shame to loose this feature, but at least there is no surprises.

Greetings once again: It's been well over a week now and still not able to download any e-mails from anyone. I've changed my password as you requested me to do and if I send out e-mails, they seem to go out just fine, but STILL no e-mails coming into my account. WHY IS THAT? Please let me know if there's anything else I need to do, to be able to receive my e-mails. Thanks again. Dave Beard [removed personal address from public]

Last night I used my Computer and checked for New Emails, before Powering Down. This morning I Powered Up and went to see if an Email I am waiting for has arrived - but Thunderbird is treating me like a Brand New User and asking me to Create Passwords etc. When I finally get to something that looks a TINY BIT like my normal screen, ALL of my Messages and Folders have DISAPPEARED. The last time I used THUNDERBIRD (about 9 hours ago) I just looked for New Messages, and didn't try to make Any Changes, Updates, Archives, Migrations or Imports. Why is Thunderbird treating me like a Brand New User and asking me to Set Up an Account ? How do I retrieve my Emails (both Sent and Received).

While managing my Thunderbird Inbox, I inadvertantly transferred a chunk of Inbox messages received from my MS Office365 Outlook account into the trash. I went into Outlook on the WebApp and discovered that all of the inadvertantly deleted emails were found under recover deleted emails. So within Outlook I recovered all mails into the Inbox. So far, so good.

Now I have all the mails listed in the Inbox on Outlook. But when I open Thunderbird again, the recovered mails do not show up. It seems that Thunderbird does not fully synchronize the folder and the recovered emails are not downloaded. Instead, all mails are once again removed from the Outlook Inbox. The previously recovered mails disappear again from the inbox of OWA and I have to recover them all again.

I have already tried several fixes. Within Outlook, I created a new folder and moved the recovered Inbox mails to that folder. This was done in the hope that this folder will then sync properly with Thunderbird. Unfortunately no. The folder does not sync and as soon as Thunderbird is closed again, all mails are deleted again from the new folder on OWA.

I also deleted the Outlook account (including all stored data) and recreated the account in Thunderbird. Unfortunately, the same thing happens again. The recovered mails are not displayed in Thunderbird and after closing the program, the mails are deleted again in OWA and I have to recover them again. Finally I went so far as to uninstall Thunderbird completely from my computer and reinstalled the software. That did not fix the problem either.

I will also provide another observation: in the past when I have recovered individual emails the same behavior has occurred. Seems that when Outlook or Exchange places a deleted email into the recovery queue, there is a change in its identify such that TB now views it as a deleted message.

Any suggestions on how this can be fixed?

Best regards

Hi I shop online with Sainsburys. Until about a month ago everything was working fine but now when I make an order or amend the existing order the email from Sainsburys does not come in. I have the email 'service@sainsburys.co.uk in my address book both on Thunderbird and Talktalk. Now, I changed my email address with Sainsburys just to see what would happen and the shopping order confirmation email came in fine but if I use my normal email address nothing is getting through by email. Sainsburys have offered some advice to no avail so now I ask you - how can I get back my emails coming in when I order from Sainsburys? May I add that the Tesco site works fine. I wonder if it is from the 'glitch' sainsburys had a few weeks ago when all orders were deleted etc? Thanks for any help at all. Regards

I've been using Thunderbird as my default e-mail app for many years without a problem. A few weeks ago I was automatically upgraded to 115.1 - 64-bit. It did not upload my Address Book and my Calendar. I had to reconstruct both apps.

Also....this edition will NOT copy items to my selected location...it just adds a shortcut to my deskto.

Plus....I previously listed that I can't get specific incoming e-mails to directly to its specific sub-folder.

I am totally disappointed with this current edition and would like to go back to my previous edition which was 111 or 112. Can this be done???

I have been using Thunderbird for many years. In Thunderbird I found this message: "Login to server inbound att.net (username) failed." When I tried to send an email I got this message: "Sending of the message failed: Unable to authenticate the Outgoing Server (SMTP) outbound att.net. Please check the password and verify the "Authentication method" in "Account Settings." [outgoing server (SMTP)]

I went to att.net and I am still receiving emails. In fact, I received an email from Mozilla Support that allowed me to sign into Mozilla Support.

Please help so I can send outgoing emails from Thunderbird.

Yesterday, Thunderbird, version 115.11.1 (64-bit) suddenly stopped sending and receiving all emails. I received the following error messages: 1. Login to server pop.mail.yahoo.com with username ***@att.net failed. 2. Login to server smtp.att.yahoo.com with username ***@att.net failed.

I reset my password, but that did not help. I am continually prompted to reset the password. I verified that the ATT.net web account is working properly, where I can send and receive emails. I also verified that the server settings are all correct.

Incoming server setting: pop.mail.yahoo.com, Port 995, Connection Security: SSL/TLS, Authentication Method: Normal Password.

Outgoing server setting: smtp.att.yahoo.com, Port 465, Connection Security: SSL/TLS, Authentication Method: Normal Password.

Could you help me resolve this problem.

Thanks very much,

Hello everyone! :)

I'm using Thunderbird for many years. Today I had to reinstall my Windows and obviously to set up my apps including Thunderbird. Unfortunately an error is popping up after I filled all of the required information. I restarted my PC. I reinstalled Thunderbird. I'm using the most popular email client in Bulgaria.

Nothing works so far. Screen shots are attached including the provided settings from my email client.

Thanks!

In most recent iteration of Thunderbird, my emails arrive hours late... (They're also forwarded to other email addresses, and arrive on time there, so the issue seems to be downloading into Thunderbird). It happens also when I "download now", that is, the emails that are on the server or downloaded on my other accounts don't download to Thunderbird. This can be anywhere from 2 hours to 12 hours late.
