two images. first image, the email that I SENT TO MYSELF, from my android phone, captured a product link, sent the link to me, and opened it on my desktop (or even opened on teh phone) and the HTTP link does NOT indicate it can be open, and if i hover over it, it does not open either.

BUT, if I FORWARD that same email to me (opened on desktop, forwarded to my email, and opened on desktop), it ALLOWS me to open it. why are the links not working if i send myself an email from my phone (where i browse products, etc, and caputere the links)? any assistance appreciated, thanks

14 Nov. I have been unable to solve the problem of needing to sign in to Thunderbird using Google. I have gotten myself into some trouble, and almost got scammed by trying to get help from on line providers to accomplish this. Some Dell technicians have the suspicion that my version of Thunderbird may be corrupted. I am going to take my Dell desktop to a computer shop tomorrow. I am hoping they will install a new form of Thunderbird onto an external computer, and then let me try to log in to Thunderbird on that version. If that works, then it will be an indication that the version I have been using on my Dell desktop is corrupted. The plan in that case would be to have the technician transfer all my Thunderbird data to the new version of T-bird on the external computer. Then he could install a new, fresh version of T-bird on my computer. Finally, he could attempt to return all my Thunderbird data from the external computer back onto the new version of T-bird on my computer. I am afraid that my Local Folders and their contents will not be transferred back to Thunderbird on my computer. I'm afraid that all my local folders will be lost. I'm not sure whether the technician will have to make a Thunderbird-Profile_back up before he removes the Thunderbird data from my computer. We'll see.

Hi

I have Thunderbird 145.0 installed and made the settings for my Outlook mail account as you can see in the screenshot. I do not want the client to automatically check for mail.

However, each time it starts, I can see the notification in the bottom left bar, it will check for mail on the noted server. Those messages are then downloaded, if present.

The options to do that are not ticked, nor the option to check.

Any ideas how to stop this please..?

Thanks

I installed Thunderbird on a new (used) computer running Windows 11 Pro using the old computer's mail account and password. Thunderbird seemed to connect automatically to the webmail. However, when I click on the email button the program makes me enter my name and password (already entered). Then when I click on next I get - Error Creating Account. What do I do now? Thanks.

Dear Support, when I forward a message, it gets successfully forwarded to the recipient, but the forwarding message itself is lost -- it's not in the Inbox folder, and not in the Sent folder.

The only indication is a forwarding icon in the forwarded message.

My settings are attached. I'm using IMAP with FastMail. I checked the Web interface and don't see the forwarding message there either.

I also tried selecting the `Sent Items` folder manually in the settings, no difference.

Here's a slightly trimmed `MOZ_LOG="IMAP:5,timestamp"` output https://gist.github.com/igrekster/f694698e4033637f2dd5d6202d99341d

Thanks!

I have several iterations of installing SMIME on my email account. I know the pf12 file is valid and it works on all my Android systems. However, when I try to send a digitally signed email on Thunderbird under Ubuntu, I get the message that either the SMIME certificate cannot be found or it has expired even though I went through the correct process to install it (and it shows up on the End to End Encryption settings) and when I display it, it indicates an expiry date of 2027. I have also tried to bundle it with the intermediate certificate but I still get the same error. I even tried to create my own personal SMIME certificate and use it (using SSL) and it had the same issue. Anyone have any suggestions?

This is the error I get: "Sending of the message failed. You specified that this message should be digitally signed, but the application either failed to find the signing certificate specified in your Mail & Newsgroup Account Settings, or the certificate has expired."

Do I need to put the SMIME certificate in a specific folder in order for it to be "re-found"

Hello,

I have saved message templates that I use. Each one also has a footer (which I save as an .html file).

When I use this template to send a message, the image in the footer doesn't load and I get the message: Thunderbird has blocked the file from loading in this message.

When I click UNBLOCK, nothing happens. The image still doesn't get added. It's a very small image from my footer/signature. 'When I compose a new message, I don't have this problem' – the image in the footer loads and is sent to the recipient. This problem occurs when I try to send a message saved in the templates. There's no way to "unblock the image" and send it.

Hello,

I am moving over to Thunderbird from outlook. I have about 8 emails with two domains. First email works okay. The second one on the same domain has turned red on the left panel and thunderbird keeps poppoing up the certificate for mail.xxx.com is not valid for the server. The other works I added the exception when setting it up. The mail server is another domain used from my cpanel hosting provider. So it does not match the domain of the emails.

I can't seem to find a way around this to get it to work. Also I under account settings it looks correct. I am thinking this error message is the incoming mail server? I don't see under account setting anything for incoming mail server which on my hosting is the same for incoming and outgoing. Appreciate any help.

Thank you!

I am installing Thunderbird. I have signed into my email provider using Thunderbird and downloaded my mail. My inbox indicates I have 668 emails. (I accept that as correct because I keep my emails for a long time). Then I went to try to copy my email data by going to ...Thunderbird\Profiles\... I right clicked on my default folder. It indicated only 163 files for the entire folder. It seems to me it does not contain all of my 668 emails. The next step is right click on the default folder, copy then paste in my desired folder on my computer. If I do that, how will I know all of my email files and data will be copied over? Thanks for your help.

Hello, I received an email from Spectrum (.TWC) that I needed to change my password by Nov. 11th. I did change it last evening. Now today I cannot receive my email via Mozilla Thunderbird, I receive the pop up to Enter the Password when I open it.

Then a second submit I added: -I came to search helps as to why I need to add the password every time I open Thunderbird's password. I searched and found something similar to what I am having problems with here: https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/1525666

I removed the password that was there for years, I then shut Thunderbird, retyped the new password and it still does not work, and in the Settings Security Password there is no more the TWC in the list but only the hotmail account I have also in the list. Now I do not know how to ADD a new Password in the Settings Password. I am stuck there. No more emails coming in for two days now.-

Then the third submit I added: -I still cannot set the Password that the support above said to remove, I cannot add a new password and the settings shows that .twc is not on the list any more for Setting Security.

Also once in a while it shows a pop up at the right bottom of the page. I added it as an image.

Can someone please help me with this so I can get my .twc mail back. I tried myself and it does not work, I've read many Helps and it's not the issue that I have.-

I tried the original password, made several new ones and it still not working nor showing the .twc account password in the Settings, Security and Passwords area.

I am at a loss and need TB to work as it was before Spectrum informed that I need to change my Spectrum Password before Nov. 11.

Thank you for your time and efforts.

I have a bunch of email subfolders showing up in Thunderbird which have nothing in them. Their names appear in italic, greyed-out. No matter how many times I delete them, when I reopen Thunderbird they've just reappeared in their previous location. This includes three in the Deleted folder.

I'm using IMAP and the phantom folders are not there in my provider's webmail interface, so it must be a local problem.

I know from internet search that lots of people have had this. Solutions elsewhere that I've already tried and that didn't work:

- unsubscribing from the folders: they appear in the subscribed list but without any checkbox next to them - deleting the .msf, panacea, etc. files: the folders reappear just the same after doing this

Has anyone found a fix that works? This is my work email account and the clutter in my folder pane is really unhelpful!
