Hi there

I get the following error message when trying to setup my wife's email address on my Thunderbird account: Unable to log in at server, Probably wrong configuration, username or password

I have accepted the available configuration as shown by Thunderbird during the setup process, and have recently reset the password to ensure that is correct

Please would you advise how I may overcome this issue

One of my end users' inbox shows dates of recent emails as received in 2001. The headers show the correct date. I'm attaching an image of a snippet of his inbox. I could provide headers, but I would prefer not to expose the end user's email address.

This is Thunderbird 102.8.0 on a Mac. I personally have a similar configuration, and I do not have this problem.

Could you please help us debug this? What other information can I provide to help?

I have 2 computers and have Thunderbird on both. On one PC when I delete emails, they go into the Trash folder for that email account, but on the other PC, when I delete an email it goes into the Trash Folder under Local Folders. I must admit that I don't know the purpose of Local Folders, but that's beside the point. I just want deleted emails to go into the Trash folder for the email account in question. These are all POP email accounts.

I accidentally moved the entire "Junk" folder (from Yahoo Mail) into the "Trash" folder. How can I restore the Junk folder back to it's original location? Dragging it back is not permitted by the software. Interestingly the function still works as Yahoo seems to protect the folder and functionality from being deleted on the server). HuntArchitect solved a similar problem 2 years ago for a POP account, however in my case it's an IMAP set-up and his solution doesn't work (the folder gets moved back into Trash automatically, even though I can't see it in the Yahoo webmail trash folder).

Tbird blocks outgoing emails as spam. Error codes vary: one is ID 6408E1320400D02C, another is 6410bf9d02256542. This started today, and affects optonline and sbcglobal accounts, on a windows 7 and a windows xp computer. I've tried changing default port 465 to 587 and rebooting. It doesnt matter whether I have an attachment or not. Even a brief email sent from one of the email accounts to the other is sometimes blocked but if I send a brief email with a pdf I created myself it is consistently blocked.

The only antivirus program I have is malwarebytes. I disabled it through task manager - and that didnt help either. Version on my main office computer is 102.9.0 (32-bit).

I couldnt find anything really relevant online. I don't have a VPN. My settings havent changed in years and I've never had this problem before. Photo of SMTP settings is attached.

I hate to think what's going on with my computers at home.

I have been running TBIRD FOR QUITE A LONG TIME WITHOUT ANY ISSUES UNTIL RECENTLY, when I got the message "checking mail server capabilities...". The situation is as follows: System: Desktop PC OS: WIndows 10 Pro (up to date) Application: Thunderbird (64bit) 102.7.1 Several profiles running OK, but one with my personal accounts is not. That is for only one of the accounts I get the message mentioned above All accounts are running as IMAP accounts, as does the faulty one

I don't know what to do about it!

I was having trouble with my Thunderbird folders and reinstalled the program. Now I cannot send emails. I receive emails, but I can't seem to find the correct email server address for Time Warner Cable (TWC) I have tried mail.twc.com smtp.twc.com and several others.

When I attempt to send an email, it just sits there trying.

Hi, I've just spoken with Apple Care and described to them my problem. When I want to share a Pages document, I have different options but none of them is via a Thunderbird email. In "extensions", the box "Thunderbird" is not even clickable (see picture attached). Two professionals tried to fix my problem but eventually said that the issue seems to come from Thunderbird and not from Apple. Hence my question: how can I be allowed to share a Pages document in a Thunderbird email smoothly, without having to go the other way around (new e-mail -> attach doc -> Pages doc)?

OSX Ventura 13.1, 102.9.0 (64-bit), Gmail imap, when Tbird applies filter to move message a strikethrough copy remains in inbox. A non strikethrough copy is in allmail. When I try to delete the ST copy in inbox it just removes the ST and the message remains. The left click menu delete works. None of these actions have any effect on the moved message. Messages are moved to Local Folders. When I select an unread message in the inbox it immediately changes to ST status. No messages have ST in Allmail. I tried to set the delete action to move messages to a "New trash" folder and most of the inbox vanished. The "Inbox" appears to be worthless and undependable. All I am trying to do is to have my filters work like they used to when I was using POP3. My wife's windoze machine is now having similar issues.

Since some time - and I am a long time user - when I react to a message that someone sent me, the original message no longer has black characters but they are turned into blue. I have no idea why this happens and I have not changed anything in my preferences, so think it is part of an "upgrade" of Thunderbird. I'm not happy with it, because if I make a print of my answer - on a black and white laser printer - I cannot read the original message anymore. So I have to make a separate print of the original message after I printed my answer to it. I now have to make two prints and use more paper, where I normally had to make only one print. I looked around under preferences, but found no option to correct this new habit of Thunderbird. :-((. I hope there is someone who knows how I can turn this new thing off and maybe there is someone at Thunderbird who understands that this "new nice blue thing" is not a good upgrade as I now have to make a lot more prints than before. My email provider is closing down in July and I found Thunderbird as an excellent new provider. In a write up, it said it was very easy to add a second, separate account. I wish to do this to keep personal emails separate from work and charity emails. How do I do this, please? (I am elderly, disabled, and not too good when it comes to IT. In other words, help needs to be spelled out in words that I can understand as I have'nt a clue what some of the language, in daily use by people who are familiar with it means. Thank you.
