I would like to install Thunderbird in current version (135.0.1) via flatpak. My OS is Ubuntu 24.04.2.

Currently, I have installed Thunderbird version 128.7.1esr via flatpak. I was not able to change the branch from stable to release. Can you give me some advice?

Hello Firstly, thank you very much for this great product. Secondly, I prefer to use Thunderbird as a Flatpak on my openSUSE install and have been hearing a lot about version 136. Can you please create a Flatpak version for "The official monthly release. This release is intended for users who want all available new features and bug fixes on a monthly basis.", so that we can get updated to versions such as 136 sooner rather than later? Cheers Pieter

I am having issues adding att email to Thunderbird. I input my email account info and it comes back as a good account. Then I hit continue and after a few minutes it states the username or password is incorrect. I even changed the protocol from POP3 to IMAP and it won't let me.

I want to get rid of the spam and archive folders, to free up real estate. I can specify that I don't want anything archived, but that doesn't get rid of the archive folders. I can undo the default adaptive spam filtering and set up my own "delete" filters, but I don't know how to remove the spam folders from my edresses. Are there ways to do this? I prefer the older design, though I understand that some users want those folders.

With the latest update 136.01 whenever I click on any Thunderbird mail I get a popup screen that says "Thunderbird Email wants to access you Google account".

The screen implies there is an "Alow" link that I should click on but none exists! Then the only way out of this screen is use the esc key. That takes me back to my Thunderbird mail but anything I try to initialise thi popo up screen again. So my email account is totally unusable. Hello everyone

I recently upgraded from TB 69 to the latest TB (after a crucial add-on finally got updated), and I'm generally happy with it, except for one little irk:

In Classic layout, the preview pane now contain multiple messages. As far as I can tell, it contains all messages of the selected thread, in date order (not in message list order). I would prefer the preview pane to contain just ONE message, namely the currently selected message. It is annoying to have to click repeatedly inside the preview pane to access the individual messages in the preview pane. It is also visually confusing (to me).

What's worse, the messages in the preview pane do not follow the normal threading: they appear to be shown in order of date, not in the order of the messages in the message list.

In the screenshot, you can see the thread has 11 messages, and in the message list there are three subthreads. The preview pane also shows the 11 messages, but not in the same order as in the message list. Plus, in order for me to read any messages, I need to click inside the preview pane to fold each message in or out.

I prefer a situation where I can click a single message in the message list, and a single message is shown in the preview pane. Is this possible with the latest TB?

Direct after the update to 132.0 (linux,64-bit) thunderbird stopped downloading the body of my emails, only the message headers are downloaded. This appears on all accounts, (POP and IMAP). Another email client workes and everything there is fine so i am shure there is no failure at serverside. I tried also to delete all files on all servers (bad message problem) and reorganize "global-messages-db.sqlite". but all this does not solve the problem. Unfortunately it is not possible to move back to my old working installation and profile ( why dont you offer this?, would be nice in this situation ...)

Hello, Sometime ago something happened on my server and caused the email account to get corrupted. I cannot access any of the emails. Prior to this, a backup was made of the account. The backup was made because the server was being changed. All emails worked perfectly after the server change and worked for months. The account is set up as IMAP. The size roughly of the backup is 1.2 GB. The backup file does NOT have the proper extension for recovering the emails. The extension is simply .file

When the email got corrupted it simply dissapeared from the server. I think the server is running Linux / Apache.

Any suggestions? Thanks

Been a LONG TIME user of Thunderbird (over 15 years) updated recently and now my Thunderbird e-mail server will not download e-mails off my Network Solutions acct. My I-Phone has no problem and the setting as the same (I doubled checked the settings) POP acct. same server settings . . same password . . etc.

Please get back to me as to how to fix this . . I'm in IT and I simply can't figure out why it just stopped work (ALL THE ACCTS on the mail server stopped downloading) it is not the internet connection . . I'm writing you through the same laptop / computer / using a browser.
