I updated my comcast password recently. Now when I try to send an email I get error about password - dialog comes up one option being reset password. When I click this I expect a dialog to open allowing me to enter the correct password but nothing happens.

I went to saved password dialog and removed the entries there hoping that would force Thunderbird to ask me for password - no joy.

In the Beta version how do I update SMTP password? I do not want to recreate the profile because then I lose lots of stuff - I JUST want to update the SMTP password. None of the pages I find are helping me.

I am running Thunderbird 115.5.0 (64-bit) on Ubuntu 22.04.

I have two accounts with email MS - one with Hotmail, and the other with Outlook.

Both continue to receive emails without issue.

Recently, neither can send emails - having been able to send emails for years.

They had different SMTP servers, so I checked to see if I was using the correct server, and both appear as being correct.

I tried adding one account (again) to ensure TB would select the correct server, ... and it still cannot send emails, but still receives emails.

I have tried both with oAuth for the password, but that has stopped working.

I can find nothing online, and feel like I have exhausted the internet for solutions, so if anyone can help, it would be most appreciated, as I am sure others will be as frustrated.

I can send emails just fine, but cannot receive any. After a few moments, I get a popup saying my login to the mail server failed, and I can retry, enter new password, or cancel. When I click on Enter New Password, nothing happens. No new dialog box appears. Retry just keeps repeating the same error.

This issue arose when I changed my password on the webserver, and then attempted to update my password in TB under Privacy and Security/Saved Passwords, but only the smtp server is listed. I must have deleted the pop address. I don't see a way to add it back. Other than removing the account and creating a new one, is there a way to add the pop address? Many thanks.

I don't understand why mozilla didn't thoroughly verify the stability of this version. At my workplace, everyone who had updated to Supernova, has attachments problems (doesn't open), If you want to create a local folder, it doesn't create, it shows another sender at the email (even if after you repair it, after two days problem comes back), it has problem with the password, says need to login and enter the new password. Even if you enter the password, doesn;t work. The same email client which worked perfectly until the update to Supernova. For the past week my life has been a living hell trying to reinstall and configure it again. yes, I'm the IT guy for 150pc.
