Firefox for Android Support Forum

This has been happening the last several evenings. I switch back and forth a lot between Upwords and Firefox. I'm typically browsing a mastodon instance, kbin dot social, or imdb dot com. When screen goes black, if I'm typing it may alternate between normal and black on each keypress. Force quit and restart makes the problem go away for a while.

Videos will immediately start playing upon loading a page, even with Firefox set to 'block audio and video'. This happens on YouTube and Reddit.

Autoplay blocking only works if the page is opened in a new tab.

Why do websites we have "installed" (located in the 3 buttons, top right), which is substituted for "add to desktop" want to minimize ever 3 minutes or so? This needs fixed ASAP. I have Facebook, local news websites, etc. "installed," since Firefox 123.0 for Android and before. It's been doing this 6 months now. Samsung A14 Phone, Android 14, Patch level Dec 1, 2024.

For the love of God and all that is holy, make me not pissed off. I have a red star over my Firefox browser icon, yet when I go into it, it does not direct me to what needs addressing. When I browse outlook mail on compose, suddenly it appear very lagging, I not got a chance to write a letter or alphabet, very slowly to type and almos5 hang and consume much memory. This always happen. On other website or open inbox on outlooj mail still fine, but when you in compose page, you experience lagging, even you didnt do anything. Can you fix this?

After installing a shortcut to a website that stages as an app through the Firefox Android app (Samsung 6.0, Android 14) when using said shortcut, if entering any text box the keyboard will pop up and rapidly close and open, making it unable to use. Occasionally I clear the cache memory for the apps on my Poco F5. Of all the apps I use, firefox consumes the highest (8GB+) of cache. So yesterday I cleared the cache memory, didn't use firefox apart from minor browsing for 10 mins or so. Now it's filled back again (6GB+). The app size is just 267MB, but the cache is insanely high.

There is a bug when accessing the desktop version of the website under the Android version of Firefox. Visit youtube.com on the Android phone, then click on the desktop version of the website, and then click on the video to go full screen. After going full screen, the bug appears: the control button under the video cannot be clicked. This bug does not appear in the Android version of Chrome browser

Hi, I have a problem with my firefox app. Everytime I play or skip a port of a video, it plays stuttering and return normal only If I rewind some second (if I pause it nothing change). Anyone knows why? Is there some way to solve this problem? I have deleted every data, cookies etc, every add-on and reinstalled the app but nothing changed. I also formatted every setting of my device but same result. Oh, also, this problem don't happen with other apps like gallery or chrome. It stutters even if I have just Firefox opened video

I open Gmail links and Firefox opens then in a floating window in android tablet. How to fix this? This is really annoying. I've tried unchecking the Gmail open links in Gmail to speed up browsing setting but that didn't work. Firefox is my default browser . I'm on news Lenovo tablet. I installed Firefox and from Day one I have this problem even before changing any Firefox settings. When I change default browser to Google Chrome it works fine . Also on my Samsung phone the Gmail links open fine in Firefox. I'm only having this problem on my tablet. Can anyone please help?

video on websites dont play very smoothly. they are always choppy, and look like they are playing on a really low frame rate. the same os true for youtube, instagram where it is very laggy when any video is played. ps. im on android, cant seem to open about:config area

I have been using the "install as app" feature in Firefox for Android for years. It is a great feature for appifying services that don't have a dedicated app and for getting around poorly implemented stand alone apps. Last night I tried to delete a redundant "app" icon from a web page that I made a shortcut for in Firefox. Apparently removing the shortcut icon via the normal Android UI also completely removed Firefox and all my other app shortcuts that I made in Firefox before. Please fix this bug ASAP if you are able, I understand it also may be an Android thing you can't fix. I have not recreated the bug because it is very annoying to have to reinstall and reconfigure Firefox.

Firefox android RAM memory usage gets sometimes high. I have no addons and only view tabs. Max RAM usage rises to 2 GB and my phone freezes. Opera always runs smoothly with no problems.

HTML5 video is becoming very choppy as soon as audio is enabled. The playback is fine before that. Tested across multiple websites.
