Firefox application was updated from version 64.2 to 122.0.1 and my open tabs were disappeared despite my data still existed.

I installed firefox nightly on a Fire Tablet. I was under the impression that firefox nightly would auto update even if the google play store doesn't exist on the android device. It has not been auto updating at all. Am I missing something. Do you need to do something in about:config or was my initial impression wrong.
