Firefox for Android Support Forum

What I want is: 1. History should either not be saved, or alternatively auto-deleted after a certain time (e.g. only keep history of the past hour), or as a last resort get deleted when closing the browser. 2. I want to keep the ability to restore recently closed tabs. I realize this is a bit in conflict to not having a history, but just remembering the last few closed tabs would be enough, or all tabs closed in the last few minutes. 3. When I restart the browser (after pressing "Quit"), I want it to restore my previously open tabs 4. When I restart the browser (after pressing "Quit"), I want to keep cookies and logins (i.e. not get logged out everywhere, and have the cookie dialogues after restarting the browser). 5. Not super important, but ideally I want to keep my saved favicons/website logos in the bookmarks and on the new tab page after a restart.

So basically I just want to way for the history to be empty or automatically pruned, without sanitizing any other data on exit or browsing in a kind of permanent private mode.

I haven't yet found the correct configuration to do this. If there is an extension or about:config option for doing this, please also let me know (I'm happy to switch to Firefox Beta or Fennec F-Droid which have full extension support and expose about:config functionality.)

I have been trying to get the Add-on "sponsorblock" on Firefox for Android. However when I check the Add-on page for it, it tells me that I need a more updated version of Firefox. I have checked multiple times, and confirmed that I am already on the newest version and there are no updates for me to get. Is this add-on no longer supported on the Android version of this browser, or is there some other issue?

The new on-device translation has been integrated into Firefox starting from version 118. I can't find any information about when (or if) this is coming to the Android (and, while we're at it, iOS) version?

For many in my friends and family circle, this is _the_ feature that keeps them on Chrome.

...Desktop site option setting does not stick! After switching tabs for 5 mins, it changes back to mobile site view & I HAVE TO X out of tab, reopen it, & check desktop site again! You can't just reset the desktop site option on & off either, doesn't work. You MUST X out the tab & start all over. ...It's a real pia! In older versions it always worked, always defaulted even days later! However, NOT in the last few versions, why can't it still currently work now? It should! ...And god for bid you find any real support! And probably won't get it here either. ...."IS" there ANY real, live support around here? A developer email? Anything??? I'm looking for a trick to prevent Firefox mobile to force screen orientation to landscape mode when playing a video in fullscreen mode.

This is an old complaint (see this 2018 bug) but at the time there was a key in about:config to change the behavior ("media.videocontrols.lock-video-orientation").

Since "media.videocontrols.lock-video-orientation" is now useless (according to this bug) I'm clueless.

I am trying to set the home page on my Samsung S21 with android v13 and firefox v117. I cannot find any means for setting the home page. The customize homepage in the top (3 button) menu has no option for setting a different home page.

The homepage option under settings gives you exactly the same options as above.

The customize option under settings applies only to the theme and has no options for managing the home page.

Unfortunately every version of firefox is different and all the instructions I have found apply to different versions of firefox than the one I am using.

Why does the desktop settings keep changing to mobile. This option should not be allowed to be changed by website developers when they identify your browser as a mobile device. I find mobile view is inferior to desktop view and usually has less information that is on the desktop deals I never use it and I'm constantly having to change it back to desktop view when visiting other pages.

I suggest that fire food / Mozilla make the settings option for desktop a user option that is not changeable by websites.

I have always been the type of person to max out my tabs on web browsers and try to remember what we browser I used to refer to on different situations. Once I looked into Firefox, I was extremely impressed and excited to use the collection options to become better organized with different websites! I originally made a list of collections on my tablet and was under the impression that when I went to share the collection with from my tablet to my phone (both newer Samsung models) that it would share the whole collection as is to my phone and that I could create new collections on my phone and share back with my tablet. I don't always have both on hand but would like to use them interchangeably. I know I can sync the tabs which are open which is a nice feature and I have since added my collections from my tablet to my phone.

I think it would be an amazing option to be able to customize the collections - organize alphabetically, color control for collections that are similar, "parent collections" or a sub collection option from your main collection to just allow better organization. I do like the collection feature but I am not able to organize it and now I'm in a similar (though much better) scenario as I was when I had a bunch of tabs open from different search engines. Any possible update or options would be much appreciated! Also, I am very new with using Firefox in recent times so there may be something I am missing but from what I found I don't see any options as to what I'm referring to. Any help is also much appreciated!!

Im a regular user of Firefox Mobile and also Firefox PC. I'm missing a very important feature in "Firefox Mobile" is Shortcuts are not Coustomizable i can't order them and also shortcut isn't "Synchronized" with Firefox Account which is really frustrating. Became "Vivaldi" & some other browsers have this features!!! I used firefox like 2years but, If i want these features i have to shift from firefox to other browsers, which i don't want to. So Please Solve my problem and make me mozilian forever.

Steps to reproduce: 1. Install Fennec from F-droid 2. Open browser 3. Observe splash screen 4. The original logo is back

Actual results: 116.2.0 changed the startup splash screen back to the regular logo. I actually rather liked the minimalist splash screen logo we had for a few weeks prior.

Expected results: Is there a flag in the config that I can change to get back the minimalist logo?

I think it was the update to 1:15, but I'm not certain when the search engines I had disabled were unable to again. I don't understand why I can't delete, for example, Bing and eBay which I will never ever use, but to have to disable them adventuresjust because I update Firefox, seems ridiculous.

Hello everyone, there is a feature that Samsung internet uses (and for the most part almost every app on iOS) called "back to top". With the introduction of add-ons I was hoping you could allow us to download an add-on that has similar functionality or Firefox could introduce this feature natively.

I find this feature quite important since you could be knee deep into an article, novel or webtoon and have the need to back to the top of the page (which can be as easy as pressing the home key on PC).

Hopefully there is a solution to this, I didn't think I'd miss it swapping from a browser that has it but I really do.

I recently migrated from Brave to Firefox and noticed that whenever I try to use the android back button it brings me back to the home screen instead of to the last page I was at. Is there any way to make it just go back a page instead of to the home screen?

We need support added into the firefox mobile addon ecosystem for adding new permissions from and for our addons. Currently my issue is that MAL-Sync cannot add new permissions for the new websites and ones with changed domains which in my case happens to be the latter. I already tried uninstalling the addon and reinstalling it but to no avail. The add permissions button in the addon also does not work because the support for it in Firefox mobile does not exist like it does on the desktop counterpart. I am on Firefox beta currently. On the desktop when clicking the add button a little bubble would pop up asking to add permissions for mal-sync for whatever sites had support added. Please add in this functionality.
