I use a samsung galaxy A12, and I have issue with the download functionality. Whenever I'm downloading and I pause or the Internet becomes bad, when I resume the download or "try again", it completes the download but the file becomes corrupted and won't open in my phones storage. And I notice that the size of the file is always less than the actual size downloaded, which indicates that it stopped downloading into the local storage at the point it paused or network became bad.

It'll download completely, but the file downloaded into the phone becomes corrupted and useless. It's annoying that a browser has such a problem in 2023.

Please, fix up ASAP.

After updating Firefox for Android, my phone started rebooting after downloading any file. This makes it very difficult to use the browser and I had to use Chrome temporarily. The Crashes tab in About Firefox is empty. I tried to collect a logcat and uploaded it to Google Drive (maybe this will help somehow.): https://drive.google.com/file/d/1kmdS5rTH3r0u09KLxeUDeY5U8r5xiEK1/view?usp=sharing. I hope this information is helpful in solving the problem.

Recently I have had problems downloading things via the Firefox Android app. Especially when downloading .apk files. I've found out that when I start a download on the app, I need to have Firefox open the whole time the file is downloading. If I minimize it, the download breaks. No matter what file I download. Additionally when I try to download an .apk file I ALWAYS get a "There Was a Problem Parsing the Package" error. I've probably tried 20 times with different .apks too and I couldn't get it to work. That's when I went and gave a rating of 3/5 Stars which I'm absolutely not happy with, since I've always loved Firefox.

- Downloads break, when minimizing the Firefox Android App. - .apk files seemingly always get "could not parse packet" errors.

Android Version: 11 OxygenOS: OP6_O2_BETA_3 Phone Model: OnePlus A6003

I don't know if these informations are of any help, but I'd be happy to hear about updates, if they were.

"Downloads are broken. Always problems when downloading .apks. Otherwise good browser." (This was my Playstore review.)

Thanks in advance. -AP

Having an issue where if i try to download a file, if the name is the same as another file on device, it just automatically overwrites it without asking to rename or save in another location. This becomes a problem when a lot of people just name their files 1,2,3 etc. And I end up losing something important.

Is there any way to either stop the overwrite happening, or to be asked to name a file when downloading, I notice there are no download/save menus in the settings, and the advice online of going to about:config just takes me to a broken blank page.

Any help?

while performing a download, "com.android.phone has stopped" apears, the signal strenght indicator in the upper right restarts(disappears, reappears with the 4G mark, the mark disappears and the indicator works after), after that the phone service and the phone app work normally. the download finishes normally.

using motorola e7 plus, android 10

tried restarting the phone, deleting cash and data of phone app, deleting cash of firefox

tried downloading using google chrome, all work normally.

it is possible that the issue started happening after I updated firefox but It's possible that it was happening before too.

I'm running the latest Firefox for Android (v118.0) on a UniMax U676CL. Every time I try to download anything (image, file, video, etc), when it completes, the phone's mobile & data network connections are IMMEDIATELY DROPPED (eg. no bars, says 'no SIM card', etc), then around 15 seconds later, they return. Very strange. This has been happening for a few weeks (and a few FireFox updates), and until I recently discovered that Chrome (which I don't like) worked fine, I blamed the carrier / phone... which obviously isn't the case. ANY IDEAS?

as the title says when downloading a file, firefox causes com.android.phone to crash. enough crashes causes my tablet to panic and auto restart itself.

the only app that can cause this is is firefox, downloading files via something like discord, doesn't trigger it, only firefox. i tried with other apps to no avail.

it started happening after an update (update TB-X606F_S301018_230810_BMP ) (the last update was a year ago so lenovo isn't gonna fix it on their end anytime soon) and it's quite annoying when i need to use firefox to download files to view/use.

 security update: 2023 Aug
Google play system update: 2023 May
