I have a new PC running Kubuntu 22.04, with Mozilla Firefox 120.0.1 (64 bit) installed. Standard, the system window title bar was hidden. But I wanted access to the "Move to desktop" menu and wanted the title in the title bar. So, in "Customize toolbar" I checked "Title bar". The title bar reappeared, but a complete border along the Firefox window became inaccessible, and when clicking in that zone, it effectively clicked in the window behind. In particular, the complete menu bar is inaccessible, as well as the scroll bar on the left and in the bookmarks sidebar the fold/unfold. And Mozilla Thunderbird 115.5.0 has the same annoying behaviour. Even when hovering over some menus in the Mozilla window, you can sometimes see reactions from the window under the Mozilla window. On older Kubuntu computers (up to 18.04) with older versions of Firefox (up to 113.0.2) and Thunderbird (up to 102.11.0) I do not have that problem. How can I get at the same time access to both the system title bar and the menu bar ?

Hi--

I recently upgraded from Mojave to Sonoma 14.2, and Firefox 120.0.1.

In Mojave, fn-F12 used to invoke a "Dashboard" with applets like Dictionary and Thesaurus.

With Sonoma, fn-F12 causes the bottom part of Firefox's frontmost window to become a web developer tool, same as ⌥⌘I, instead.

Can I get my Dictionary and Thesaurus back?

Outlook displays the "To:" and "Add a subject" labels in black/grey text, but the rest of the "New Mail" window is white. There are no visible border lines between the "To" line and the "Subject" line. And no visible border between Subject and the email body.

The side-effect is an elderly person writes their entire email into the subject line field because it is not obvious where the email body starts.

I've seen this behavior on 2 different computers running the same (latest 120.0.1) Firefox. Odd thing is that I DO see borders when I run Outlook.com on my work laptop (same Firefox version). What config settings might control behavior like this?

I captured screenshots of the desired display of borders on my laptop. Tried .jpg, .png and .bmp. All of the files showed the borders between To, Subject and email body. But when those files are transferred to the PC I am on, the borders no longer display. Bizarre. I uploaded/download the files using Onedrive to ensure that the corporate email server was not touching the files. Even then the borders that exist in the files on the laptop do not display when those same files are viewed on my home PC.

New computer, Win 11 and FF 120.0.1 all fresh installed and updated with latest versions. The double line spacing in bookmarks and all other menus is back. There was a fix for ver. 89 with the css file trick, but that DOES NOT WORK with this version. All other options I've run across don't work either. Why do the Mozilla software engineers think it's a good idea to break their flagship application every few years? Rhetorical question, I know.

Does anyone have a user fix that actually works with this FF 120.0.1 version? Something an experienced user can do that is not a programmer. analyst or engineer? I've been using FF since it first came out to challenge Microsoft's IE. Late '90s? I'd like to keep using it but this is too annoying to tolerate.

If anyone can help with step by step instructions, I would be eternally grateful.

How can I get firefox to preserve my preferred setting?

Hello,

After FireFox 80, the shortcut key of "Copy Link" and "Copy Email Address" was changed to L from A. This is really inconvenient for most right-hand users..

a> I posted a link 2 years ago below. But it is not working in the latest Firefox 120 under Windows 10. https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/1333526

b> I believe a lot of users are looking for this answer like this one below. https://support.mozilla.org/bm/questions/1334749

c> Yes, thanks to this add-on which will add an extra link with shortcut key A, but it shows 2 duplicated links. https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/copy-link-address-a/

Anyone know how to change the L to A natively? I prefer the same way as a>, or post an add-on like c> but to change existing L to A, not add an extra link.

Thank you so much! Brian

I have three Firefox-related browsers installed on a Linux Mint MATE system: Firefox, Nightly, and Pale Moon. I realize that Nightly is not intended for production use. That said, the top border is twice as tall as the one on Firefox and Pale Moon. This is a new system and I don't remember the border ever looking like this. The three images should illustrate the problem. Is there an about:config setting I should set?

I've set custom fonts through Settings > Fonts > Advanced, but the fonts I have specified are not being used on any websites even if I uncheck the box that says "Allow pages to choose their own fonts, instead of your selections above". For example, I've set the default sans serif to Source Sans 3, but websites use Arial regardless of the settings. The only custom font I've gotten to work is Segoe UI (the UI font on Windows); all other just fall back to Arial. The problem persists even if I disable all extensions/add-ons. I'm also experiencing the problem for non-Latin scripts; I've tried to set the default Bengali font to Noto Sans Bengali, but websites are using Vrinda instead.

I'm running Firefox version 120.0 on Windows 11, any help is greatly appreciated!

Running Firefox 120.0.1 on Windows 10. I also run Vivaldi and test with Chrome. I installed Google Analytics Opt-Out add-ons on FF, Vivaldi, and Chrome. When I go to any site with links to X (Twitter), and click on the link, instead of that link appearing the last X link I went to appears. If I click again I get to the correct link.

When I disable the Google Analytics Opt-Out add-on all works fine. This doesn't happen with either of the Chromium browsers, so I'm thinking there's something happening in Firefox by avoiding Google analytics that isn't in the Chromium browsers. In addition, this behavior began within the past couple of weeks of recent FF updates.

I installed several different Google Analytics add-ons and the same thing happened in FF, but not in the Chromium browsers.

Any ideas? I know I can disable the analytics crushers but I really don't want Google hijacking my browsing.

Setting to see page numbers in the side bar when printing?

Coming over from Chrome (I know, I know) and so far the only customization option I'm missing is:

I'd like to be able to see the page number in the sidebar on the left (ideally next to/under each page) when printing a PDF. I work with a lot of downloaded PDFs and I frequently need to break those down into separate documents, which I do by printing to PDF in-browser using custom page ranges. For example, I'll print pages 1-2 to Document1, pages 3-6 to Document 2, and pages 8-10 to Document 3.

Having the current page number at the top of the sidebar isn't very helpful, I want to be able to see the page number for each individual page all the time so I can tell at a glance, for example, that page 7 is blank and can be skipped, or page 6 ends a report so I know which pages get printed together.

Is there a way to set this up?

The Certificate Manager dialog (Settings -> Privacy & Security -> View Certificates...) has gotten to the point where it is extremely wide (greater than one screen width! Luckily I have 2 monitors so I can expand the FF window wide enough to get to the grab handle in the lower-right corner of the dialog). If I grab that resize handle in the lower-right corner of the dialog and attempt to shrink it, it will not get any smaller - I can only make it bigger. (What has caused this problem is I have attempted to reduce column sizes in the dialog, but the columns have only gotten wider!) I see no controls to be able to reduce the dialog size to a reasonable width. Am I stuck with this forever now?
