Over the last few days Gmail has begun malfunctioning. The buttons (forward, move etc.) have stopped working, and when attempting to reply to messages the error 'cannot load rich text editor' appears. This fault is duplicated on two separate macs and does not appear in Safari.

Firefox will not copy formatting
Firefox will not copy formatting - as Safari 4.0.5 does ( or even Internet Explorer 5.1.7 for the Mac once did).
How can the top browser not do this ?

I've been searching all evening and trying various options, but don't think I have this figured out, and wonder if anyone could help. I have an AM appt. to bring my computer in for an upgrade and would like to have my bookmarks archived first. (Mac OS10.4 / Firefox 3.6.25)
I found this info in another thread, and was able to follow it almost all the way through, save for the last part:
"Start at the USERS FOLDER (the one with your name on it) then LIBRARY then APPLICATION SUPPORT then FIREFOX then PROFILES then the folder .DEFAULT you should see files labelled BOOKMARKS and a folder labelled BOOKMARKBACKUPS you will see .html and .json files within this. Select an .html file and an appropriate date, open it in Firefox to check. Now go back to Firefox and click through bookmarks-organise bookmarks-restore-choose file and search for and select the file you just found."
When I click on the BOOKMARKBACKUPS folder, there are only .json files inside - no html. There was one bookmark.html file on the same level as the BOOKMARKBACKUPS folder, and when I opened it, it looked like an info page.
I did highlight, in turn, each of the .json files and under FILE, chose ARCHIVE and moved them to my external harddrive, but I'm not sure if I truly backed up the bookmarks. Appreciate any help.

My Firefox preferences are set for it to open to a blank page. But sometimes (not all the time) it opens to a Google search page. What's worse: I may be in the middle of typing something into the Google search window in the toolbar, but half of what I'm typing ends up in the search window in the Google page. Unlike just about all of the users I have seen in the forums, I would like NOT to go to the Google page, but rather just open to a blank page. How can I do so?

THIS IS A MACBOOK related question. I'M NOT ON WINDOWS.
When navigating to an image after an image search (of Marcia Cross) with Google. Search page suddenly shrinks to dialogue box with a black exclamation point in a yellow diamond followed by the message: "The page at http://sanprotectionxp.com says: Windows Security has found critical process activity on your system and willl perform fast scan of system files." There's an OK button to click. I do not. I can do nothing but force quit to avoid problems but when I open Firefox 3.6.16 again same thing sometimes happens again, this time without search, but as soon as the Firefox window opens again.

After updating to firefox 3.6.8 on my macbook pro (OS X 10.4.11) Firefox fails to recognize subsequent mouse clicks. You can access the page initially, but then it seems to lose focus and become unresponsive to mouse clicks until you do something to break the cycle (clicking on desktop, minimizing and resizing window, etc). I reinstalled Adobe Flash update using full installer, since others have suggested that as a possible cause, but no joy. The browser window still does not recognize mouseclicks after an initially successful page load. You can tab to the next window (for example, if you want to enter something in search) but you cannot CLICK to enter the search window, nor can you click on links on the page, etc. It is totally unresponsive.

I'm running on a Mac OS X 10.4.11 and my Firefox is 3.6.6. When I run all my other browsers (safari, opera) I'm able to see characters such as hearts and stars on a site like facebook. Only on firefox does it not show up, it doesn't even show boxes - it's just a blank space. It's really annoying, and I've tried everything with the character encoding to no avail. Font is still set to Western ISO 8859-1. is there a font I'm missing? But that can't be because I can see it in other browsers. Please please tell me someone's encountered something like this before. I haven't found anything anywhere so far. :/

After the update, when I start typing into the location bar, no prior urls pop up - I have to input all over again each time. This applies not only to locations from before the update, but to urls I have input since then - the location bar autocomplete doesn't seem to be functioning at all. If there's a simple way to turn it back on, I haven't found it. NOTE: Under the "Privacy" tab in Preferences, I have selected: "When using the location bar, suggest: History and Bookmarks."

About 1 month ago, after starting firefox on my Mac Motorola/Power PC G4 running 10.4.11, after about 2 minutes I loose control of the computer -- the pointer becomes a spinning wheel. The computer 'head' I assume makes the same 'thrashing' sound 'Nuh-ni-ni' for 10+ times(slightly longer recently), then all becomes 'normal' no matter how long I am on. or if I close & re-open firefox. Restarting the computer, however re-initiates it,. Soon afterward, my Earthlink Suspect Folder has one of more emails returned by the 'Mailer Demon', or pending until they fail. Opening these emails(saved) shows a 'block' of weird characters(like the English 'Pound Stirling' sign) of the apparent length as the number of 'Nuh-ni-ni' sounds. They seem all addressed to people or places of 'Chinese'/Asian name. A lot fail -- some may not -- some may also now have personal/password information. Have emptied Cache History, installed Cookie & Beacon web plugins to no effect. On search, Quicktime noted that mine out of date & dangerous -- but update can't run on my 10.4.11 Don't know what to do. Seems scary & dangerous

I think the question is pretty obvious. OSX 10.4 is left out of the current Firefox 4 update. Why? You are supporting a lot of lesser used operating systems.
