I'm looking for an about:config switch that can be toggled to disable Firefox checking add-on age except when starting it (I suspect this age is "app.update.lastUpdateTime.addon-background-update-timer").
I occasionally set my Windows clock back about two years, which used to just throw security errors on new pages. Now it also disables add-ons, which is obnoxious. Even after resetting the clock and restarting Firefox, they still can't be enabled unless extensions.legacy.enabled is set to true, which seems inadvisable.
Alternately, is there a number I can reset "app.update.lastUpdateTime.addon-background-update-timer" or another variable to that will re-enable extensions?
Thanks.

I changed a couple names of my bookmarked pages so that it would shorten the pop-up menus and sub-pop-up menus that appear whenever I hover over different folders of "Bookmarks" I've saved. I'm seeing those changes reflected on the device on which I made them but not on my other computer where I'm also signed in to the same Mozilla account.
Any idea why those changes aren't syncing and being reflected across all my devices? Or... how long do such changes typically take to sync?
Thanks! -Nate
Hello! I've remapped CapsLock to Backspace key and i've a small bug in Firefox:when i press and hold the capslock, it deletes only first symbol and stops.
I use Fedora and in any other apps this remap works properly. I've tried to reinstall the Firefox and this didn't help.
Latest checksums?
Where can I get the latest checksums to verify Firefox 60.0.2.dmg file download?
thanks

I have some compatibility questions. We are running Firefox version 55.0.1. I am wondering the following:
Is this version supported on MS Server 2016? Is this version supported on Citrix XenApp 7.15 or is an update required? If an update is required is it okay to run it unsupported?

Since things keep changing at light-speed these days, do you have a single diagram that shows all of Firefox's main elements with all their names? For example, what your developers call the "navigation bar" is where the "location bar" is, followed by the the "search bar" , with several interspersed areas that include both Firefox standard icons and some add-ons' icons. (I don't know what those interspersed areas are called.) Your help info now refers to an awesome bar, which is apparently another name for a souped-up location/address/URL bar (per "Awesome Bar - Search your Firefox bookmarks, history and tabs from the address bar"). You've got a relatively new blue down-arrow control on the nav bar which provides a drop-down tray, whose name again I know not. There are also bookmark, add-on (now discouraged, I think), and additional bars that may be added, and perhaps others.
I don't want to become a developer. I just want to know how to use the customization features. If you don't already have it, a single diagram that shows the browser with all its optional parts would be *better* than a thousand words (in articles like "Awesome bar" and "Customize Firefox controls, buttons and toolbars"), just to orient users (and hopefully keep them updated with changing versions and labels).
Thanks again fo your assistance.

I'm using AppArmor on my system (Gentoo, vanilla kernel 4.9). I discovered that every time Firefox starts is trying to get very powerful CAP_SYS_ADMIN capability. Does Firefox drop this capability before process handles external data/access internet? Does denying this capability have any negative consequences? EDIT: I just found out Firefox is using this capabilities to sandbox itself. Its great but default AppArmor policies like http://ftp.pl.debian.org/debian/pool/main/a/apparmor/apparmor-profiles_2.12-4_all.deb will deny CAP_SYS_ADMIN. Does Mozilla have any communication channels with major distributions or should i file bug reports myself?
