Ever since the end of February Firefox has had a habit of crashing on me at random, usually just a tab or so but there's been times where the whole browser just ups and crashes. I am using Firefox 73.0.1 (64-bit) on a Windows 7 Professional computer.

1. This mainly occurs when viewing a video (mostly Youtube), scrolling down on pages, or opening or switching to a new tab.

2. Beforehand if there were issues it would take a few seconds to load the tab, now it just instantly crashes.

3. I've tried uninstalling and re-installing, clearing everything, turning off add-ons, and changing options and nothing has worked. At best, I've stopped it from crashing on launch and disabling add-ons.

4. This issue does not happen on other browsers, nor has my computer shown any unusual behavior.

5. It did not start immediately with the new update, which I got the 20th. It started occurring a week or so after.

https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/containers seems to suggests that it's possible to hide all tabs in certain containers, but does not explain how to do that.

"Hide and Show: Assume you use your browser for both Work and Personal tasks. When you come home at the end of the day, you don’t want to be thinking about “Work” anymore, but your browser is full of Work tabs. You can “Hide” your Work tabs and proceed with your Personal tasks. Then the next day, when you are back at work, you can “Hide” your Personal tabs and “Show” your Work tabs."

On an aside, I'm also getting pretty confused between collections (mobile), containers (desktop), sessions, tab groups, etc... they all seem to have overlapping but different functionality.

I can't find a way to change the scrollbar color in firefox 73. The gery on grey scrollbar is very annoying because it's so hard to see. I tried to create chrome folder and tried to add various codes to userChrome. I also tried this: https://gist.github.com/Sporif/db6b3440fba0b1bcf5477afacf93f875 but it seems to not work.

On some pages the scrollbar color is fine, but on most pages it is the annoying grey on grey. I also tried disabling layout.css.scrollbar-color.enabled in about:config without any effects.

Tried every solution but import works only for bookmarks, cookies, history and not the passwords. When i try to import, it says successful but nothing happens. Tested in both the browsers in their closed state. Earlier also i faced the same problem (i think a year back) which forced me to reject firefox. Please help if u know any solution. I want to setup firefox to ask me, or directly to switch to a webmailaccount and start an email, if I use a MAILTO link. I can not setup this, the only add-ons are for gmail or yahoomail , but I can not find a solution for a custom webmail address. On another PC I got a question from firefox if I want to define this link, an on this PC Mailto is working. On my working PC I also want to set up this function, but I can not manage to do it. can anybody help?

I'm a Linux (archlinux) user. After the update to FF73 I cannot play Netflix movies. I can log in, see the homepage, choose a movie and then I tries for awhile to run the movie. After a while it fails with error: F7702-1290. It suggest to check I have the latest version of Firefox, which of course, I do. Any Ideas to solve the problem.

I've had no problems for years when using PayPal to pay for Ebay items, but suddenly 14/02/2020 the PayPal pop-up window just sits there with the spinning circle. Paying by credit/debit card works fine, but I want the payment to come straight out from my bank account. Followed the simple instructions like disabling AdBlocker and checking Pop-ups are allowed, as given in other answers. Still stuck for a solution, saw elsewhere a reference to user_pref file but that just confused me as I'm not that technically minded. Any help would be gratefully received.

I tried to use automatic password generation option in Firefox on a website. That website requires us to have a symbol in password. But autogenerated passwords in Firefox have no symbols in them(Chrome does). Can we somehow get Firefox to do it?

When attempting to access https://signup.gmx.com I get the following error;

The requested URL was rejected. Please consult with your administrator. Your support ID is: < 3522328377538005653>

I contacted GMX and they have been unable to tell me why I can't access their signup page. I had my brother do a test from his home. He's on a different ISP. He is using a VPN, but this worked off VPN too. He is using the same ESR version of Firefox that I am, and he's on the same Windows 10 version I am. Also, he's using the same router I am with the same firmware. He can access the page without issue.

What I've tried;

• ipconfig /flishdns
• Checked my IP address is not blacklisted.
• reboot router
• power cycle NTD
• Run Firefox in safe mode
• Clear all cookies and cache data
• Create a new Firefox profile
• Disable Windows private and public firewall
• Rename hosts file
• Disable all firewalls in the router
• Tried different DNS Servers
• Tried different NICs (My PC has 3)
• Rebooted switches
• Checked PC for viruses/malware
• Tried different PCs in the same household
• Tried a different ISP
• Followed suggestion on https://appuals.com/how-to-fix-the-requested-url-was-rejected-please-consult-with-your-administrator-error-on-windows/ with the exception of "Add to trusted sites" I don't run any Microsoft browsers

I do not get this error for any other site. I've been trying to access this page on and off for about 6 months. It doesn't appear to be a temporary error.

If I remember, there was a McAfee Web Advisor icon on the top right of the Firefox browser, just to the left of the "hamburger" icon. But it's not there, it disappeared. Yes, it is enabled, and it is showing in Chrome. So where did it go and how do I get it back?

M computer (still running W7) auto-updated FF to version 73.0.1 and two things happened. First, the tabs now cover the navigation bar, and second, the "plus" sign to the right of the tabs disappeared so I can't go to my pinned tabs or add a new tab.

Any help will be appreciated. I do have a userChrome file, but it was a copy and paste and I don't know how to adjust it to correct these things. Or if there's something in about:config? I just don't know what I would try to change.

I've been trying to take a screenshot, but can only grab the webpage and not the "frame" so I can't demonstrate what I'm talking about, but basically the tabs are sitting right on top of the navigation toolbar, obscuring it.

Hi, Since 1 week i can't use all the fonctionalities of Google photos. I can't download albums, i can't share, i don't have infos about pics of album, etc... All the icons at top right are inoperatives. I've tried another browser (Google chrome) and all is fine. I use Windows 8.1 and Firefox 73.0.1 64 bits Regards

My wife & I have separate accounts in a fund, the web site is the same but the ID and passwords are different, I can make and save these in password manager but when I click on either one it only goes to the web site and doesn't fill in the data fields, associated with this, is also the issue of being able to ID which of the two logins in the list of available logins, belongs to which person ie how do I distinguish the web site data for a or b so as to make the job easier than manually logging in please? It'd be nice to be able to label these two logins in some way or use coloured text or similar?

Hi there, I run FF 73 on Lubuntu, and since the upgrade chrome://browser/content/places/places.xul is no longer found. I use it as a handy bookmarks and downloads manager within a tab. Error message:

"Firefox can't find the file at jar:file:///usr/lib/firefox/browser/omni.ja!/chrome/browser/content/browser/places/places.xul. "

I realize that this question is similar to https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/1223548#answer-1127393 but it doesn't solve my issue. In fact the URI's listed also don't work I have found:

   chrome://browser/content/places/places.xul
   chrome://browser/content/places/bookmarksSidebar.xul
   chrome://browser/content/places/historySidebar.xul

Hi. Just got a new hard drive. I have lost all of my bookmarks and can't figure out how to get them back. I have tried the Help instructions, without success. Thanks!
