I can easily find a bookmark by searching in the Library "All bookmarks" window. However, I cannot figure out how to see folder that contains that bookmark. In Safari there an optional column for folder and you can then right-click and get an option to open the folder.

Is there a way to do this in Firefox?

I just upgraded my computer to a 1 tb hard drive and installed windows 10. Now firefox doesn't work right, example: I go on Facebook or another site and when I try to type a post I have to type 2 or 3 letters, then wait several seconds for them to appear. I have re-position my cursor and type 2 or 4 more letters and wait again. Can this be fixed?

I used to not have issues with Firefox but in recent weeks Firefox has crashed so much that it's becoming increasingly unusable for me - I've had 63 crashes in the last 24 hours, including 6 in the process of writing this post. The crashes do not seem to be caused by any specific website or action, and they still occur in safe mode. It is becoming increasingly rare for Firefox to last more than a few minutes without crashing. Any information that would alleviate me of this problem would be greatly appreciated. Some error reports are listed below:

I opened up firefox this morning to see the new tab page...empty? I soon realize the bookmarks toolbar has DISAPPEARED completely. My firefox got update to v72 last night so I think that may have something to do with it.

The list of what I've tried:

-Make sure it's there by going "restore defaults" in the customization tab.

-Making sure it's turned on (as you can see in the attached picture).

-Restarting firefox in safe mode.

-Restarting firefox with a new profile.

-Even restarting my computer just in case it has something to do with it.

so i had a rage moment and started going ham on my keyboard, and my bookmarks before that did this thing that when they were too long it said, for example, one of the bookmarks was named GitHub - notejs/node:gyp etc.: welllll... my bookmarks before the rage moment had it to say GitHub - node... and it was so much more easier because all of them did that! now though it lets me make the bookmark bar longer but it doesn't fix it. i did though notice if i turn off the upper bookmark bar (the one with the icons below the search bar) this problem is fixed, as it shortens the name of the bookmarks. i did have it on before my rage moment though so i wish this thing it had (shortening them with ...) wouldn't go away WITH the top bookmark bar on. plz help? i did search it up and can't find anything similiar to my problem, it was never like this. i'm considering reinstalling.

Update to FF72.01 Running userChrome to keep Tabs on bottom

1...Tabs appear larger and the text for the titles is sitting below the page 2...Close Tab X appears right after any text, 3...if Multiple tabs open, Close Tab X doesn't appear on some Tabs as well as Titles

Should be a quick fix right?, with the amount of people wanting tabs on bottom, a simple check box should be made available to do this, if the user wants

I adjusted the userChrome.css as per some of the answers posed to similar questions, but no change present

So i've been having trouble starting fire fox after it updates. The last couple of times i just kept trying and it worked but this last time nothing seemed to solve the problem. So i old-school troubleshooted the problem by opening task manager, going to process' and selecting all users when trying to start fire fox. And i noticed another set of process's opening and closing with fire fox under the name LVPrcSrv except there was one more of these process's than there were of fire fox so as soon as fire fox and the additional LVPrcSrv process's closed i manually ended the last remaining LVPrcSrv process and then tried to start fire fox again and this time it work. I'm worried this trick wont work again so i'd like to ask the Mozilla developer whats actually wrong with my fire fox so i can fix it before it becomes permanently inoperable.

I'm currently using macOS 10.14, had been using macOS 10.12. I'm currently on Firefox 72.0.1, but I think the problems described below go back to version 69 or so.

It seems like anything I do with Firefox means that it creates a new profile and I have to set my old profile as the default, launch in a new browser, and delete the new profile. By "anything" I mean: restarting the computer; logging out and back in; updating Firefox; quitting and relaunching Firefox. The last one doesn't always happen--sometimes I close Firefox, relaunch it, and everything is fine. Sometimes I close Firefox, relaunch it, and it's created a new profile and I have to go through the little dance setting it back to the old profile and deleting the new one. Actions like restarting the computer and logging out usually mean that the icon on the dock has been replaced by a question mark and I have to drag Firefox back down to the dock to get it down there again. This is tedious and annoying, so I'd really like to figure out how to just get Firefox to keep using the same profile unless I change it for some reason. Any suggestions?

I don't know what to add to the above. I assumed that having logged on to my Firefox account on the old laptop and confirmed that Sync was active (which it was - bookmarks etc.) and then do the same on the new laptop I would see the same bookmarks appear on the new laptop. But they don't. What am I missing in that assumption and setup? Pls help! Thank you. Harold

Every time I open Firefox it brings up a screen as if I am a brand new user starting out for the very first time. The disk image in my downloads folder has long since been deleted, so I'm pretty sure it's not running from that. I went and looked at "application binary" and it gave me a headache, plus there was no indication in the prior "support" replies of what the changes I might or might not observe therein would mean, so I was unmotivated to keep turning Firefox off and on and then checking to see if any of the characters in the very long text string had changed. I seem to have about 10 profiles, none of which have been created by me on purpose. I tried opening a couple of them, and got messages about various updates Firefox wanted to perform, but none of the opening screens had my information loaded. I've just lost a half hour of my life down this rathole this morning, and I still haven't gotten around to completing the search which was the reason I opened Firefox this morning in the first place. Imma have to go back and use Safari I guess, since Safari isn't suffering from "Susan Amnesia"

I've Firefox Browser, Delivered to me in a SoE. I have No (zero, nada none..) control over the rate at which the packaging team updates the Browser, or their competency in doing this.

Kudos to you for keeping me, the end user safe .. by way of updates even, however Please Please PLEASE!!! provide the end user a means to stop the mandatory end user integration update pop up window whinge !!!!

If I can not control your development pace, the effective skill set of the packaging team, or the rate at which they can keep pace with your updates, then please by god , please allow me, the end user to turn the update pop up window off, and make my browsing experience better! Maintain mandatory updates.. I don't care, nor can I control that... either. However I do have my hands all over your end user UI.

I do not wish however to be reminded almost hourly how and how UN-responsive, or crap my peers are. nor I do not want "mandatory end user action" UI update reminders every blinking minute an UI or email or system interface forces me to open another browser window... again some of which I have no control over.

At home, I do not have a problem - but I usually leave my laptop on. I am traveling and am using a VPN that locates me back in USA. Otherwise nothing seems different. If there is a power outage here (often), or I am prompted to restart after auto-install of Mac updates, or my battery gets low enough to turn off the screen (only once for this), it is like I have a clean slate - no autofill, add-ons, history, bookmark, search and homepage setting - everything defaults to original. I must reenter password on every site I go to and reenter any non-default setting. Is there a setting I am missing that can prevent this? I will be in this India location for several months, so I prefer this not to keep happening. BTW, I am unsophisticated and need to know how to reach or alter any files involved.

I want to turn off dark mode (Firefox ver. 72.0.12 windows10). you say that I have to do the following:

Type about:config into the address bar, press Enter and accept the warning. Now right click on any entry > New > Integer, and enter ui.systemUsesDarkTheme > OK, then in the next box, enter 0 (that's a zero) > OK.

Problem is that after accepting the warning I only can choose <Show All> and then I get a list of settings.

But on none of the lines / entries I van click rightSo I cant insert a new entry as requested.

Please advice.
