I have a list of about 15 search engines added to search bar (all usual and famous sites), but somehow suddenly i've been unable to organize them or even change order of them. when i select manage search engines from the drop down menu of search bar the options window opens ok. next, if i change the order or remove or even press restore defaults then the ok button will never save this new settings or close the window and nothing to do other than to press cancel.

after some tries i found that changing order of some engines works ok. i tried everything and i don't want to lose my firefox profile it has a lot of hard work.

I am using FF 25 on a Windows 7 Pro x64 system. Recently, I did an OS reinstall and with it a reinstall of Firefox. After importing my old profile, I noticed that the Adobe PDF create button was missing. This is a very handy application in my daily workflow.

Going to the Add-ons manager, I noticed that the Adobe Acrobat - Create PDF 1.0 add on is disabled in FF 25. Why was support removed for this?

I tried using another PDF add-on, but it caused the browser to hang and it had to be removed. Is there a reliable option for saving a web page as a PDF? (other than using a Mac).

I've been using Firefox to deposit checks online for about a year. My bank uses Java and Active X to upload scanned checks, and normally Firefox prompts me to activate them when I'm in the process of banking. This month, at the moment I'm normally prompted to activate Java, an error message comes up instead. It says:

"Unable to update files in cache.

Name: FlatBedScan

SecurityException: com.sun.deploy/net.JARSigningException: Found unsigned entry in resource: https://sso.fistservsco.com/WebCaptureWeb/jai_core.jar"

Is this become FF has blocked Java because of its security vulnerabilities? I can't figure out a way to unblock it. I've re-installed Java, run diagnostics on my scanner, and nothing works. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

I want to write a script to use firefox to download information on a series of addresses on a street. For example: 101 State St, 102 State St, 103 State St, ... etc. The script will cycle through the addresses and streets on interest. Does firefox.exe accept command line parameters that define a specific web page, and data to be filled in to that page?

Recently web sites have begun not only showing me the first shot of a video, but starting the video automatically when the page loads (or when I scroll down to the part of the page where the video is located). This happens on various news sites (nytimes.com), facebook, and other places. How can I prevent the autostart from happening?

I've got AdBlockPlus and NoScript enabled, although I whitelist many sites in NoScript. Videos used to wait for me to click an arrow in the middle (like a "play" button) to start; some still do, but most don't. (I believe an add-on is responsible for the play button, but I don't recall which one.)

Any suggestions? Thanks.

I just started having a problem on a couple websites when I stream movies. The audio is out of sync with the video. I have experienced this a few times in the past and could stop the playback and restart it to solve the problem. That is not fixing the problem now. I keep my cache cleared out so that is not the culprit.

It's only on a couple websites and they always played fine before. How do I track down the problem?

                                          thanks.

When I am viewing pages served by the IETab addon, the "This is a secure firefox page" indicator appears in the address bar (http://puu.sh/5aLpS.PNG). This is a bit misleading, as it is being displayed on a page that is in no way controlled by Mozilla.

Is this the intended behavior? If not, should I file a bug in Bugzilla? Thanks.

I noted an alert notice on my Firefox Extensions screen that advised "McAfee SiteAdviser 2.8 disabled due to security or stability issues". Having conferred with McAfee, I am told that they do not currently support Firefox 25.0 and that it would be best if I downgrade to version 24.0 or earlier to maintain McAfee cover. Can I do this or is there another solution? My PC operates on Windows XP.

Redo because not only does my thread seem to have disappeared, but also I wanted to start afresh.

First off, are my threads even showing up anymore? Usually I get fairly prompt replies, but my last couple of threads have gotten nothing. While I am sorry if I come off as rude or demanding, and understand that there are other people needing help and you all are busy, it is rather frustrating to not get a single reply on a thread, even if that reply is "We don't know" or "we are working on this problem". It might not seem like an important problem to you, but for me it is a problem and lessens my enjoyment of the Firefox product. Plus, having questions answered grants me more knowledge of the product, and thus grants me more ability to fix problems on my own.

Anyways, on to the issue:

Hello, Ever since I downloaded Firefox 25, I have had an issue with scrolling. If there was some way to record this, I would, but at this time I cannot, so a description will have to do. If someone knows a way to record what is happening, I will gladly do it to make what I am saying easier to visualize.

On some sites I visit, scrolling will be what can only be described as "choppy"- I will attempt to scroll down, but there will be a small delay before the page responds and scrolls down. Thus, the scrolling does not go smoothly. This mostly happens on sites (tumblr pages especially) with non-scrolling backgrounds (ie backgrounds that do not scroll with the page) on them.

First off, I do not think this is a problem with any extensions, my computer, or the sites themselves. When I open the same pages in Chrome, the issue does not occur and the issue does not occur in all pages.

I have tried clearing the cookies and cache, resetting my browser, disabling hardware acceleration, checking the plugins (problem still happened even when all plugins were disabled), updating my graphics card, and disabling website colors. The first few produced no lasting result/fix, and while disabling website colors did fix the issue, it made the rest of the site/other sites (ones that were working fine) difficult/impossible to use.

One interesting fact of note is this: If I downgrade to Firefox 24, the issue not only disappears, but stays away, and does not occur.

Another fact of note: I have written a previous thread on this issue, but ended up not getting an answer to a second question I had. In the first thread, I was given this possible solution, referring to a bookmarklet I could use/try: https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/976244#answer-496960

So my questions here are these: 1) What is going on in Firefox 25 that makes scrolling choppy in that version, but not in version 24 or any other browser except version 25? 2) How exactly do I use that bookmarklet I linked to? Where do I need to place it? How do I get to where I need to place it? How would it work? Is there a way to/Can someone make it into a Greasemonkey (I have Greasemonkey) userscript, if it does work?

Also, is there a way to "bump" my thread without actually commenting on it?

Scrolling a web page from the touchpad on my laptop (IBM T42, quite old) does not work in Firefox (the page sits still). I am running OSX 10.9 Maverick on a Macbook Pro . I observe this problem in Firefox 25.1 The scroll bars in any application window all dissapear after about a second. If you resize the window or select an item with subdirectories in a list, the scroll bar in the pane you are in reappears, but it does not dwell long enough to allow you to move a cursor over it. (What is the point of making it dissapear anyway?) Two finger scrolling does not work for some reason, using a function and direction key or just a direction key works to scroll only in some websites but not all of them. This little bit of cleverness, if intentional is both un-needed and dysfunctional.
